I WANT THIS DECK SO BAD. It's so beautiful. Not only is it just a gorgeous work of photography but it's such a captivatingly designed deck. It's way at the top of my list now haha. Whether it was digital or film photography, each image speaks for itself through the use of light, composition, set design, costume design, etc., without the overuse of digital effects that is so common in oracle decks. Thanks for sharing 😊
This deck was not love at first sight for me. I bought it on a whim, and didn't resonate with the images. It wasn't until you posted the guidebook on Instagram that I even knew the companion book existed. Now, with the guidance and background info of the book, I'm loving this deck. Thank you for your presentation of this exceptional work.
I bought this deck, without the companion book, back then in January and now it holds a special place amongst my decks. Somehow, I understand the creator's mind with this deck and that with my own additions of the meanings made this deck a special one. Lots of question and philosophy of life comes (for me) with this deck. I don't think I'd buy the new version if there will be one, even if it's borderless or more brighter. I feel like the darkness that this deck has it's the essence of the deck and the white borders adds a classic and luxurious feel to it worth to frame in a wall, lol.
This is a deck that is steeped in “all the feels”for me! Definitely don’t need the big book to make it an interesting and soulful deck. You’re right! It does feel like it could be framed on a wall lol
I got this deck after hearing you talk about it and I am in love with the pictures, they are all so powerful. It’s the most intuitive deck I own and I’ve hesitated to get the guide book and rely on it…but you may have changed my mind! 😊
I got this deck a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. The images have such an ethereal and evocative feel to them. As a photographer, it was a no brainer for me. The book is on my wish list. Thanks for the video.
This is one of the few decks where I went back and bought the big guidebook. It’s so stunning and hit me in such a deep, visceral place that I just had to know what the artist was thinking as he created each image! Such an amazing deck ❤️
The guide book is also available in the digital format now. Also, I love empress card! My grandma had the same sawing machine. I can go on and on about each card. I am surprised how this is not a longer video :))
DANI HI I Love this Deck before the Holidays, I kept looking at this Deck there was something about it. But I still didn't buy it, but something about it was Drawing me To it. Every Year for Christmas my daughter would buy me a Special Deck and around the same time I get a Link in my Email about the Soma Tarot Full book that now was Available for $25. So I said to My daughter I would Love The Soma Tarot deck and the Book. I received it really quickly within a few days. You see I Live On Long Island NY , and when I would see the certain cards in this Deck, and so many were taken on sandy Beaches. Now after having it in my hands and Reading the Book I now knew . The Artist lives on Long Island NY too and all of the Photos were taken here. The book also says here in Long Island he has his Original Photos hanging in a Art Gallery here where I Live. I will Definitely Go and Visit. So now I understand why I was so Pulled to this Deck . Thank You Hugs Caroline 😘❤️

@@DaniMystic Personally I was thinking of taking the Borders off too, but after looking at the deck in my opinion the White Borders keeps the deck bright. I just feel in a reading by taking the Borders off might make the deck appear even darker and harder to read ❤️
Really loved your walk through Dani, as usual. I do have this deck and the guide book. I felt like the guide book was a must with this deck to get the full story from the creator. I am so looking forward to working with it. I was definitely, on the fence for awhile, but ultimately it just felt like a really powerful deck and unlike anything I already have.

It kind of reminds me of the Monstarot or the Last Unicorn Tarot. How many people have purchased these decks after listening to Lisa repeatedly recommending the decks on her channel and 3 Fat Readers.

It doesn’t get me super excited, but I could see it finding a place in my collection with the second edition when the colors are maybe brightened and the boarders removed. I just got in The Lost tarot and felt it had a little bit of a similar vibe and didn’t want them fighting for attention.

Absolutely. This deck leans towards those energies and I think it’s a way of looking at fears in a “safe“ environment without dumbing them down or dismissing your emotions.

I have been on the fence about this for a while. It's very Ingmar Bergman, (and a little bit horror movie) isn't it? The several cards showing the backs of peoples' heads or shrouded bodies help us remove specific identity and our contemporary concerns that could distract us from the tarot meaning which I like. I'm a little concerned about how dark the images are, but I think I have to get it. I guess I can say the devil (Dani) made me do it? 👿
Right?!? I think that’s why I’m struggling to decide whether or not I want to take off the borders… I might do it anyway but LOL it’s very tempting to buy the next round 😄
@@DaniMystic I think the borders suit this cardstock and the photographic feel and look. Knowing there will be another edition I wouldn’t feel right modifying this one. And usually I’m all for trimming the borders off lol so I can understand the hesitation.
I passed on this deck for now...in part because I'm trying to be on a no-buy this year...but also because I didn't like the coin suit. Coin suit is often my favorite, and those big clunky coins didn't feel right to me. Also it's soooo rws, and that isn't always my favorite. Now that I hear he might do a borderless version, hopefully with upgraded (or downgraded?) cardstock! I like a creepy deck, but I don't know if I feel that way about this imagery. Maybe I will see it in person somewhere and feel differently...I don't even mind the borders, I think the deck might need them.
The coins are the most clunky suit in comparison to his choices of all the others, so I can totally see what you mean. I think the borders work to some extent, but would be better suited if the images were a bit brighter so that it could be seen more clearly...but Idk LOL.
After using it a few months I’m slowly starting to dislike the card stock a bit. It’s not terrible but I find the more I use it the less ease I find in it when shuffling. The deck as a reader, I actually have been really getting on with. It’s been so good for shadow readings, as well as transitional readings. Almost as if going from one stage of life or situation to another. It definitely feels very revealing in it’s energy.

hmmm....does the title "Somnia" refer to being in an Awaken state, as opposed to "Insomnia", the inability to sleep/ being in a Stupor...or is it "Somnia" as night, and Morpheus, as opposed to the inability to sleep. Also, beautiful deck. That clock on fire...
I’m not sure! I had that same conversation with a few friends. Word on the street is that it stands for the insomnia he had because of the sleep paralysis but I’m not sure.
He speaks of the compass as an emblem of the coins a few times, but I couldn't find any specifics. I feel like I read about him creating it, but I can't find it now. However, I notices that within the compass emblem on the back, it is his own initial within. Looks almost like a coat of arms with the B at the center in front of what appears to be a candelabra with an empty banner below all covered by the compass.

Interesting! Ya know, I can't be around nor do I like looking at images of Carnival at the End of the World. Just writing it makes my stomach hurt. Now unlike this, I actually really liked the look and everything before I bought it, but when I got it in my hands, different story. I had a really bad experience with the whole vibe (not so much the look) and it was the only time it's ever happened to me. I literally bound it and threw it out. So, I'm a big believer in trusting yourself. Just because the energy jives with one person, doesn't mean it will with another. Sinister energies come through in different ways and form for everyone.
