I have never ceased to admire the music of the solitary and noble Mikhail Pletnev as pianist.
However, to be honest, I don't really like Pletnev as conductor, except for some of his performances.
This performance is one of the exceptions.
Pletnev, who is usually integrity, cool, and even divine. But at this moment, he is unusually "Hot".
And he brings out a human-like sound from the orchestra, not only divinity.
This human-like or rather humanity, it makes the listener “Hot” as well.
Humanity - Sometimes it's passionate, sadness, admiration for beauty, and they can even expose themselves to something ugly.
And sometimes they express these in the form of “excitement”.
That's what a human being is.
And one day, that humanity catch a glimpse of the supreme world, and someday return to nothingness.
(For example, this is why Tchaikovsky's “Pathetique Symphony” resonates with people who have experienced, felt, and struggled with various things in their lives.)
Mikhail Pletnev's solitary pianism reveals the supreme heavenly world all at once.
This may be due to the characteristics of a piano sound and the soloism.
Either way, I see only his divinity there, and I adore that.
However, in the performance of orchestra “humans” consisting of approximately 15 types of instruments and over 100 people in an orchestra, it is natural and true to see a variety of expressions and even suffering in their lives.
In this performance, I can see the passionate soul of the human Pletnev in him, and it makes my heart warms!
