With its graphics and smoothness, this game is not much different than some Neo Geo games, let's say World Heroes or Ninja Masters. No slowdown or stuttering, just amazing. Those people from Bandai really knew how to work with the SNES' capabilities!
Bandai were simply geniuses with this engine they created, it also gave them to make the gundam game which I find to be the evolution of this something like this would be street fighter 2, the gundam game would be like super street fighter 2
@@RonSVaiNexactly. I just bought a SNES and it came with Gundam. I then realized first time playing the game that the "Engine" was the same of my ol' beloved PRFE. That is what brought me here to begin with. I am buying the cartridge right now.
This reminds me of the times me and a group of friends played this in the basement. There was five of us each taking turns vs each other in the summer of '96. No one could beat me while playing as Shogun. 😝

i realize this is probably out of nowhere, but i'm curious: why do this have a combo hit counter/no face portraits? I really like it, gives more screen real estate (and also shows, you know, when things combo)

it is an option, you can hide the heads and show the number of hits in a combo
