I don't know why but I was always kinda scared while playing this game. I think part of it was because you're literally the only person at a carnival, it was night, and some of the songs are actually kinda creepy. Especially the song outside the merry go round.
Ahh! I'm in the middle of watching, and the guy ran by while you rode on the ferris wheel and I actually felt creeped out! Guess I'm still kinda afraid of this game😂😂
I remember watching my aunt playing this game when I was 4 or 5 years old; it really gave me the creeps, but at the same time I couldn't take my eyes off the screen to see what would happen next lol. Good memories.
same here the parts when the culprit is in the slide Blonde didn't get a slide ticket she's just walking around the carnival and he pops up outta nowhere like the fan cards she walks to the magic show but passes the slide and he's standing right there! I'm like what she didn't find any slide ticket in the game so he is there just bam! so thats when I get freaked out the culprit coming outta nowhere like bumper cars tunnel of love and slide it freaks me out
MegaPenguin3000 amusement parks that are at night when nobody there are scary. Imagine if you were alone at the amusement park with only two items; a gun and a radio. Then your radio would tell you “Penguin, we got some black mysterious figure at the top of the Ferris wheel.” Back when I was like 6 or 7 (I’m 19 currently), I had this dream of the game thrillville and it was nighttime in the game which is unusual because in the game, it never shows that it’s nighttime. I was equipped with a gun and a radio in the dream and about an hour or two throughout the dream I was in a neighborhood near thrillville looking towards thrillville noticing that the Ferris wheel and other attractions were shut down while my radio was giving me weird signals that somebody or something was in the park. This is similar to this game in my prospective.
I used to be absolutely terrified of the guy that peeked out every once in a while. I don’t know why, but he was nightmare fuel for me. I was so terrified that my brother had to play it for me. Honestly, I really liked this game when I was 4. It’s still pretty good for its time. I lost my copy but if I find it I’ll see if it works and I’ll just play through it for nostalgia.
Well here the suspects (except for Artie) If it’s the magician (she wanted attention for her magic show. Though I guess when she was arrested I’m afraid the carnival will haft to look for a new magician.) If it’s Mister Franklin the owner of the carnival (he just wanted the money for himself though if he is arrested it will all go to his son Jake Franklin.) If it’s Jake Franklin (he’ll just kidnap and bring Ken so he can be the big hero and if he is a arrested I’m afraid Mister Franklin won’t have anyone to pass the carnival too when he was shield that the caper was started by his own son.)
Thought I wouldn't get scared now that I'm older, but wow this game still spooks me good. The music, the atmosphere, and the uncanny graphics make it chilling to this day.
I GET THIS SOUNDTRACK STUCK IN MY HEAD AT WORK... WHEN I PLAYED THIS GAME WHEN I WAS 6 TO 10 YRS OLD... AND I'M NOW 25. but omfg they nailed this soundtrack can i get an amen???
Joining the hundreds of others who say they were COMPLETELY scared when playing this game. Thank you to whoever posted this. Also cried from nostalgia. I watch this now and can still perfectly recall how afraid and on edge I was! Trying to rationalize now and dissect all of that from an adults perspective now is pretty fucking special.
Man, this brings back such great memories for me. Even if this game seems like a silly and dated experience to others, I truly loved playing through it each and every time. Thank you for giving me a piece of my childhood back.
I had legit nightmares about dude peeking around that Tunnel of Love entrance! Dear lord that is still traumatizing! Like my heart is pounding just looking at that thing lmao
I always got spooked whenever a scene would load and the shadowy figure would suddenly dash away without warning. It got to the point where I would habitually look away from the screen every time I moved Barbie to a different scene... Also, for anyone wondering, there are *hundreds* of names on that name list in the beginning, and there are voice clips for every single one. I would usually pick my name, but sometimes I'd pick a name at random just for variety.
What bothers me is how they explain that the motive wasn’t the money yet it goes missing conveniently with Ken. If the motive was to get some attention then why take the money as well and leave it completely untouched? It just doesn’t make any sense as there had to be a couple hundred dollars in that box and human nature would instinctively cause a person who kidnapped someone holding that much money to grab some for themselves and go on a shopping spree. I mean you already committed one crime so stealing money isn’t out of the question at that point.
Looking at some of these comments I'm glad I wasn't the only boy that enjoyed this 😭😭 it was my older sister's game but the whole mystery concept and the fact that it took place in an amusement park at night got me engaged 💯
There are so many girls who also have never touched any Barbie games, it is that we tend to generalize the wrong things. Anyway, actually Barbie games are/were really good! The gameplay, designs, sounds. They are underrated.

When I came to the comments I was FLOORED how many people also thought this was scary. It feels like so long ago but the nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks and I was right back in that room playing on the bulky family computer like it was yesterday.
Pretty sure they're referring to the computer graphics. It's pretty unsettling that everyone looks like the actual Barbie dolls and nothing moves except for their mouth.
I remember the anxiety I would get from going from one area to another and just waiting for Barbie to run into the dark shadow culprit. It always creeped me out. Especially when you have to chase em through a ride.
I have a theory that Becky and Barbie were completely wrong and sent an innocent person to jail because someone framed them. The real culprit was seen at the very end with the girls and yet no one ever questioned the suspicious evidence that clearly points to him. The person I’m talking about is Ken. Think about it. Ken literally had all the money the charity carnival made which had to be a couple hundred dollars worth given the size of the carnival, he conveniently disappears with said money during a magic act, he was found unharmed in a rather convenient location which no kidnapper would use as it is too obvious to be used to hold someone hostage and is literally the first place cops look in when dealing with kidnappings, the carnival money was untouched by the supposed culprit which is very odd given that anyone that kidnaps someone with lots of money on them will instinctively grab some for themselves, and the money wasn’t the motivation for kidnapping Ken which is also extremely suspicious.

Always a treat when Jake's the culprit. Most of the time, I would get Madame Wanda since I never wanted to talk to anyone. Some of this carnival lore is a bit odd. It seems to be a temporary carnival, but the grounds look like it should be a permanent. Also, I have no clue how that slide setup works and manages to hold together after multiple assembly/disassembly. (Guess Artie's really good at his job!) And why would Bert Franklin have a "charity carnival" if his goal is to have enough money to buy his own circus and be a clown. Still loved this game as a kid, and am forever kicking myself for selling the game. I've got half a mind to buy an old laptop, run Win98 on it, and have it around just for this game and the sequel.
One day i was playing this game and in the exact moment when the shadow appeared in the elevator the lights of my house were turned off. I cried and start running
I could never finish this game and I always got stuck when I was a kid. I wanted to play this again but it doesn't run on my computer anymore. thanks for all the nostalgia!
oh my lord that scared me she didn't even find a ticket that showed her she needed to go to the tunnel of love she was just passing by it and the figure shows up thats what scares me like the culprit pops up outta no where she was passing by the slide going to the magic show cuz she found fan cards but the culprit appeared on the slide and she didn't find a ticket that showed her she needed to go there the culprit was just standing there that scared me!
I loved playing this game so much! It's the creepiest game and some weird things happened after playing the game. The woman character became evil and said something weird. I was so scared I thought it was alive or something. Omg.
when i played this i'd always click the magic top hat and have an unending stream of birds flying out and flapping lmfao... also, the slide was my favorite because of the music but I was always entranced by how the suspect's butt was red instead of the blackish brown color of their coat???
lol I played this as a little kid but would always get stuck so I never beat it, glad I finally figured out the mystery thanks to this video xD I have been searching for a play through forever

i wish we can play it now somehow on our phones.. i would love to play it again in my 30s.. even the graphics were magnificent for its time
I'm sure you can with an emulator 👀
@@SpicePrincess1890 how? I wamt to know the process? What term you guys use to play such games?
I got so mad that I had to be "ASHTON" in the game. because they didn't have Ashley....ASHLEY IS A 90'S NAME! lmao
What the heck. They had the weirdest names, but not Ashley? I can't remember which name I chose, I doubt they had mine either
oh my lord that scared me she didn't even find a ticket that showed her she needed to go to the tunnel of love she was just passing by it and the figure shows up thats what scares me like the culprit pops up outta no where she was passing by the slide going to the magic show cuz she found fan cards but the culprit appeared on the slide and she didn't find a ticket that showed her she needed to go there the culprit was just standing there that scared me!
I loved playing this game so much! It's the creepiest game and some weird things happened after playing the game. The woman character became evil and said something weird. I was so scared I thought it was alive or something. Omg.
HOLY SHIT THIS GAME SCARED EVERYONE ELSE TOO
I remember this game scaring ne so much, when you went through the swan ride. I look back and laugh. I'm almost 30, I miss this so much.
The slide ride would give me anxiety! I would get so stressed trying not to mess up lol
when i played this i'd always click the magic top hat and have an unending stream of birds flying out and flapping lmfao... also, the slide was my favorite because of the music but I was always entranced by how the suspect's butt was red instead of the blackish brown color of their coat???
when the suspect just appears as she's walking by going somewhere and I see him it scares me I literally just freaked out
This game sparked my obsession with circus/carnival from a young age! I adored the music & was always so frustrated I couldn’t catch the suspect 😂
I love this game the most of all Barbie games. Why they don't make games like this anymore? Sobs
As a kid I totally thought Ken was murdered
ahhh man! i remember watching over my friend's shoulder as she played this on her home desktop computer
Classic! I was also the kid looking over the shoulder as the friend played all of their cool games
lol I played this as a little kid but would always get stuck so I never beat it, glad I finally figured out the mystery thanks to this video xD I have been searching for a play through forever
My favorite part was the slide! I remembered it so distinctly and couldn’t find where it was from until now haha. Thanks for the playthrough!
I only have vague memories of playing this game, but getting loads of flashbacks
“I think we already found that clue!” I swear when my sister played that she’d always click and hear that a lot. Lol
Omg my childhood just flooded back! I loved this game! I've been wanting to figure out how I can play the old pc games now in 2024😢
i wish they would make remakes of these barbie games.
Just figured out this is where my love of Nancy drew games came from too- they’re practically the same. Miss this game.
Idk which one it is but Nancy gets stuck in a damn furnace of all things and I have to do something before I burn alive …. I’m scared for life
Can’t wait to finish this video and see where I was confused as a child.
This game used to scare me 😂 it was also too damn hard... never got past chasing the suspect down the slide
