Hey! So I just found a dove and it had mites on it. Besides the mites she looks clean and I tried taking her to the vet but her appointment is not until a month from now. I dk if she is wild but I just went up to her and she let me pick her up. Is there anything you recommend I could do in the meantime? Ps. I tried looking for owner. She doesn’t know how to fend for herself. My dog almost got to her.
If not there is a product you can purchase online or dynamite spray that works pretty well . If she has mites that should remove it . Best of luck and thank you for rescuing the dove 💪💪
Recently i found a fledgeling coveted in mites that was missing feathers around its neck, chest and under its wings. The only reason i took it in was cos it was jet black. Anyone have tips with the cleaning process? (In currently quarantining it fron my quails and pigeons in a cat carrier.)
I would recommend if you can giving it a bath with dawn dish soap. To clean the feathers Then letting it dry is important . You can towel dry it with a towel . Most importantly make sure it eats and drinks water . You can feed it rice or oatmeal if you don’t have any other seeds . Home depot has small bags of seeds you can purchase. I’m wondering why it was missing feathers . It may have been attacked by a hawk or cat .
@@harryhoudini8626 Ive gave it a bath in warm water which got rid off alot of blood suckers, however it was pooping clear liquid without any solid matter but i fed tue skinny guy 40 sweet corn kernels and he started pooping again so i dont think theres any intestinal worms or blockage. However I recently bathed it again in a mix of salt, ginger and turmeric powder and he seems to be fine now. Ill look into your recommendations and use them if needed. Thanks for the help.
Great informative video Harry!
