To "try" something is a sign of indecisiveness and uncertainty. When we say we will "try" to do something, the intention is not clear. We are setting ourselves up to fail. "Trying" to do something takes away our accountability to really do that thing. It's like saying, "if I am able to do this thing, then great...but if I am not able to do it, it's okay" With this mentality, we can never achieve things and be productive. I never thought of this perspective before Sir Matt, thank you for this! You are a great teacher and leader!
I'm so glad this message resonated with you Jd. Thank you for this and the good comments you've made on a number of my videos. I appreciate you being here.

When I say to someone "I''ll try to do that", what I mean is "I will try to do that...but I will probably fail, so don't be surprised if I don't actually do that" :)
Hello Vufzero. Thanks for watching and for posting your comment. You got it! Instead say things like, I'm going to DO that. Or, I'll begin applying that. Simple changes in the words you use will have a big impact on your ultimate results.
Hello Sherman. Thanks for watching and then posting a comment. For those reading these comments, Sherman was the first person to stand up and contribute to our teaching moment during the live seminar shown on this video.
I must confess that I've gotten more comments making that comparison than I ever thought possible. 😬 I see you need another course… in mustache observation. LOL. Charlie Chaplin (& Adolph) had those little smudges under their noses. Whereas mine is the style worn by movie star matinee idols of the 40’s such as Erroll Flynn, Clark Gable, David Niven, Don Ameche, and even by Vincent Price. 😉 Am so pleased you find my videos to be helpful.
Trying is a phenomenon occurring at the same time as the action of either lifting or not succeeding to lift the chair. It is not a useless word in what it is meant to convey, however the purpose of the lecturer is to show confidence and it helps him in teaching other concepts. It’s practical, but in reality not correct that you are useless for trying. Trying is real and it matters, because to get to the end result you need practice. People are not magicians or perfectly programmes. That would be a shitty way of viewing human beings, as sales people I have worked with not seldom subscribed to.
Hello Lars. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Here's the bottom line behind my lesson. People often let themselves off the hook with the idea of 'Try'. In the final analysis, one either accomplishes a thing or they do not. You either pass the class, win the game, make the sale, get the job, lift the weight... or you do not.
But trying is better then not doing . Everything is learnt by trying , cause we are not born like computers with programs , we have to create our own program . Thankyou very good video 👌
Yes, you are right. Just as long as you realize the mindset you must have is not to TRY but to DO. The truth is that multiple 'failures' will lead to success.
Hello Matt. THANK YOU for taking a moment to post your comment. Yes. I plan to publish many more videos in the coming months. Stay tuned. The next one will be on the subject of Writing Good Essays - The EASY Way.
Great message....you articulated so well a conversation I had with a friend last week when she said she would TRY to read a book for our book club!!! X
@@BeSmarterFaster no no no thank you for being on here sir. The info you bring is invaluable. Also thank you for sharing the magic phrase of saying "come back to now" i love that one.
Interesting, this video has good points but here is where I disagree with the quote "Do or do not, there is no try". There absolutely is trying. All trying is is attempting to do something. You can try and fail. You can and try and succeed. You will never know any result if you do not try. Of course, aim to do something! We shouldn't set ourselves up to just try and fail but try and put things into action until they are done. Attitude is key. So yes, Just Do it!
What you said is exactly doing not trying. Trying to do means thinking about doing something but not doing it. Once you reach the doing phase, you are no longer trying. This is my take away from his great video.
Thank you for the video. What is your take on attempting to do something your are not certain you are capable of? It is trying, after all, and even if you are prepared to fail, you never fail if you don't try to grasp beyond your reach.
My viewpoint is that one must often FAIL Your Way To Success. Life is FULL of stories of those who simply persisted, learned from each failure, and eventually DID it.
Hello Ashish. Yes. That is certainly a good topic. I have a plan to release videos on several specific types of tests including one focused on essay questions. Thanks for viewing and for posting your good question.
I usually take notes from your video. They come out only once in a month or a year but they ate really good. But this one should be given the heading 'Do not try'. The video is good. No doubt but It doesn't stay true to the heading. I expected to take away a leadership skill or quality or tactic. Good day ❤️
Hello Ashwin. Thanks for your input. I'm so glad to have thoughtful people like you among my viewers. My thought on the subject is that there are many unexpected qualities of leadership as you heard from my live audience members. Those qualities are valuable and worth considering. And whenever a person is presented with new ideas that may seem good there's a mental tendancy to say we want to TRY them. I wanted to steer people's thinking into something more beneficial than 'trying'. I hope that helps. Also, you'll see that I've increased the speed at which my videos come out. I have published 11 videos in the last 3 months. And again, thanks for being there. I appreciate you.
Greetings sir..... Thank you for the video.... your content is really helpful friend. My favourite video series of yours is the instant concentration series.... do you have any intentions on making another concentration video? That bit about how you must *decide* was really good (Since you reduce the stuff in your mind which thus strengthens concentration). Also in regards to having more going on in your mind, I loved that bit where you likened the more stuff going on in your mind to putting water or milk into dish washing concentrate (really good anology). For me, intrusive thoughts are hard to avoid sadly. I apply your instructions and it works. It works mainly in that it serves as a really strong base. Like I feel that even if I didn't do too hot today, I still applied my self at some point without any distractions, so I did apply your Info at LEAST at times in the day (which is correct thing to do). But yeah, when I start fatiguing, that's when intrusive thoughts start kicking in. But yeah, otherwise your work is phenomenal. You, and another gentleman called T Lavon Lawrance from dynamic mental fitness. I consider you guys top 2 in regards to information I found. The power of concentration is also a really great audio book that I found. Anyway, enjoy your day and stay blessed.
Hello A Singh. I'm very pleased you enjoyed the multi-part INSTANT CONCENTRATION series on my channel. I loved putting it together, and the fact that it has 'cross pollenated' and is getting comments like this on a different video, is really quite remarkable. At this time I don't have any plans to add another video just on concentration, but I'll keep it in mind. By the way, If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out my video "How To Do The Impossible." I think you'll enjoy it. Thanks again for being a loyal viewer.

Hello Shakir. I am not qualified to answer such an important question as that with any authority. However, every program I've seen, whether it be a 12 Step, or medical treatment, all begins with taking personal responsibility. Having a strong belief in GOD and his love, also helps.
