Your not alone Adam. I started going to shows when I was 16 way back in the 80s. I went to 50 or 60 shows a year for around 30 years, the majority being at First Avenue in Mlps. Around age 50 I found that I didn't have the same feeling about going anymore.
You've broadened your horizons and grown as an individual, I say good for you.

If you plan on going to more shows I recommend looking into buying a set of earplugs meant for concerts, they have a noise filter in them that allows some noise through just at a lower decibel. Brings down the volume a bit, and cuts out that harshness you can kinda get from it being to loud, but it doesn't sound muffled like the cheapo foam plugs.

That was a great catch with the lightning at the 25 minute mark. As for the "getting old" part, I've seen a few people in my family go the other way, attending more concerts when they are older. I've definitely gone the other way, but it's mainly going out in general isn't as appealing, plus the cost of some things makes me not want to go.

So many memories of visiting my family out in Orlando so hopefully I'll get to return again someday but in the meantime your content keeps me well informed about the parks and many attractions. My uncle was a bus driver for WDW so we did have some benefits in all honesty but he's been retired for quite awhile now which is very much deserved. I use to attend shows of my friends bands as well so it's nice that we do have a lot in common. Glad to support and share.

I saw NFG a couple weeks ago, soooo much nostalgia. I thought at 43 I was too old but I was right in the median age range, for everyone that was at the concert. It's fun to see, how (for alot of us) we went from drinking/drugging/partying, to bringing our kids and it being (mostly) family friendly. I remember/don't remember, soooo many Warped Tours. Although I am only 25 years old, I hold great admiration for older punks. My father, who grew up in Southern California, was very involved in the SoCal Punk scene. The movie "Suburbia" starring real punk rockers not actors, the lifestyle of actual punks in SoCal during the 1980s. As a child, my father introduced me to punk rock he saved his punk vinyl collection and passing it on to me. The first bands I listened to were Crass, Subhumans, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, ST, and I became obsessed with The Return of the Living Dead soundtrack and movie.

Punk in the Park isn't doing the flagship 2 day festival in Silverado, CA this year because the same promoters are doing the final NOFX shows, which is a 3 day festival in San Pedro in just a few weeks.
But they do a great job at ensuring the fan experience avoiding bands sets overlapping.
If only the No Values festival at the Pomona Fairplex earlier this year implemented something like that. The two main stages overlapped set times, so for instance 15 minutes into Sublime's set Bad Religion started their set at the other main stage.
No Values was over priced and poorly organized with poor set time planning and a lack of parking staff. But hey , the OG Misfits played

While coasting through my middle-aged years, I tend to stick to the smaller venues where the capacity is under 1,000 punk people. I've seen some great bands this way, Descendants, Circle Jerks, TSOL, Exploited, Dead Kennedys, etc. Perhaps the WOO should try the smaller venues? I wouldn’t go that far . Great band I listen to them all the time but to say they are one of the best live bands is a stretch

@TheDailyWoo that's why I said one of the best, that's why they were the last band for that big of a show. I think that should yell you where they stand. They put on a great show and pretty much every song is a hit, plus for blink 182 to want matt should tell you. Even Tom said he had changed his songs up because of how good Matt's songs were

Just went to a Bad Religion show last year and SAME. It's not dead for us, just looks different. My back hurt sooo bad standing on that hard concrete floor in chucks. Omg. But then just went to Alice Cooper and had seats and it was nice. So, comfort always wins! Air five

Hey ATW, Great vlog, love seeing concert footage. But your only a few years older than me and as an avid concert goer, I probably attend roughly 20-30 shows/ festivals a year, almost always in the pit and I love it, I could never imagine leaving a show early. As a Born& Raised Floridian I really think your take on the FL heat is a little much, sure it's humid but it's nothing unbearable like the heat out West. But to each there own, Love the Channel, keep up the good work! 👍

Being an East Bay kid, I feel that I was brought up at all day festivals. I’m trying to remember if I ever saw Guttermouth live. With so many stages, and other things happening, it all gets blurry. I mostly remember a lot of Rancid, and the festival I missed. I should have skipped work at Golfland and gone to Free Tibet, saw Beastie Boys and Total Devastation, where fatties were being thrown off stage.
Oh! I also remember Flogging Molly, and all the kids on shoulders that knew all the lyrics, and how all the parents got them outta there before Cypress Hill’s set started, thank goodness. I’d go to another one tomorrow, and I’d take my adult kids, because this is their music now. And just to cause trouble, Woodstock 99’ was the beginning of the end and now we have Coachella. I said what I said.

FYI - no such thing as heat lightning. There was a storm, just far enough away, or the wind direction was keeping the thunder from being heard. Lightning is not created by heat, and it always had thunder. This is a huge misconception that most people don't know.

More core in 24! We just put on a show in San Diego called my town! All local Punk bands going back to 1977 Including Xterminators, DPI, Ministry of Truth, the Skullbusters and many more. I posted a video of Ministry of Truths full set if you want to check it out. Nothing like 60 to 80 year old Punks tearing it up! Old punks never die, great video. Thanks for sharing ☮🤘

I went to No Values Festival in Pomona, CA, this June and yeah, that was a long one. Couldn't find the car for about an hour, but seeing The Misfits was worth it.
I just saw Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas at SoFi Stadium. Pretty cool, but I was at the top of the place and the sound wasn't so great. I kind of prefer, at forty nine, to be in a seat rather than the pit. Got my fill of that and have nothing left to prove!

my buddy and I went to Punk In Drublic at those fairgrounds and while the bands were amazing, nothing like standing in a swamp with 2 beer options once the beer tasting shuts down. Free hot water. Long lines. Porta potty soaked shoes. Lol! Anyway...

I was the same way Adam. I recently went to Berzekus in PA , saw bands like Rival sons, black stone cherry, clutch, black label society etc. Half way through the final act , all I could think about was getting out early to beat traffic getting out of there. 😅
