    This book was where our group spent the most game time. The characters came into their own, we found out fully who they were. The romace between two started here as well.

    I always loved just how deep and attentive to details Pathfinder campaign books are. In addition to all the other material from the supplements. I remember running a game for a group of people who only played 5e DnD around the time Critical Role just started. They were relatively new, but managed to complete a mini-campaign with a different GM (I think it was a very trunkated and adjusted Cult of the Reptile God module). So when they have gotten through learning the basics of Pathfinder 2 and gettin on the same page about what this campain will be in session 0, they still it would seem expected the same sort of game. The wide eyes and open mouths and shocked faces were kinda priceless to see as I kept pulling out printed artwork for characters and heraldic coats of arms for houses and countries and maps for every place they went (both tactical and geographical) -- over and over. They wanted to go to a place, I had a map. They wanted to speak with a character -- I has a picture. It was quite some hard work to make the illusion of complete agency stay intact and disquise the fact that they always only had 2 or 3 real choices, but having pulled it off and seeing their reactions wastotally worth it. Not to mention the meterial provided by Paizo helped immensely. Anyways, great episode! I don't know what will happen and how it will develop, but the relationship between Marius and Martella is my favorite so far. Lots of layers. Cheers!

    This was a really fun episode. I enjoyed how you presented the setup and the strategic aspects of everything. I found how you tied Aurelius' background into the story really cool. As a rookie GM myself, I appreciate the GM explanation at the end to help illustrate how best one can deviate from the story as written. I am super excited for the next episode!

      One additional tidbit I'll add on this, is that if you're running and adventure path make sure you read the whole adventure, not just the book you're on. That'll help you thread character backstory into events that happen way later down the line. So if you know the players will inherit a barony in Book 2 - why not make it because of one of the player's family who has chosen to play a noble?

    Another fantastic episode! I especially liked your discussion after the regular episode about the changes you've made and the reasons for those changes. That was really, really awesome. I am currently running my group through wrath of the righteous and we are just getting started with book 5. I've kind of been thinking that I am done with pre-written adventures, but these episodes are getting me kind of excited to think about running war for the Crown. Thanks!

      Just wait, we go way off the beaten track in this adventure. The second half of this story is wild. Premade adventures shouldn't feel as restrictive as people sometimes treat them. More GM tips follow along these lines too.

      @@TheMythkeeper I find the hardest thing for a lot of GMs, especially new ones, is how difficult it is for them to adapt and wing it. Some of the most fun I ever had at a table was then the GM pulled crap from nowhere and just went with it.

      @@TheMythkeeper I can't wait! I haven't made too many changes to Wrath becasue the party hasn't tried to do anything much different than what the books expect they'll do. We all worked together to make sure their characters were tied to the story, the mythic campaign traits for Wrath really help with that, and everything's gone swimmingly so far :)

    Amazing episode as always. I like to hear how you chane the adventure paths to fit the PC stories into the adventure. I've always created games from taking player ideas and weaving them into a story and was always afraid an adventure path would be to limiting. Nice to hear it's not. May need to look into some APs.

      If you think of it as a time-saving chassis from which to build your own story - instead of as a straight jacket you're confined to - I think you'll have a lot more fun with a published adventure.

    Occult oracle? But they are divine? Is this an adapted element of 1e lore or is it some sort of in character understanding of magic?

    • @TheMythkeeper
      @TheMythkeeper  3 месяца назад +1

      Its honestly a bit fuzzy, but I'm using 2E lore here.
      > pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Divine_magic
      You'll notice "Oracles are often chosen by divine forces to be vessels of their power", I think from a lore standpoint, an Oracles power depends on its source.
      Rankle's magic doesn't come from a divine source, it comes from a fey source, so from his (and my) point of view, its occult not divine.
      1E didn't even have Occult as a category of magic - it was only Arcane or Divine back then.
