The Big Push fast became my favourite band when I discovered them in lockdown. They are all so talented . I loved everything they did . I wish I could see them live one day for a reunion. Great reaction xx
Wow wow. I watch this one several times a week. I just cain't help mahself. Two moments of wonderment: the first glimpse of Gorran (the bassist), bare chested, lank-haired, and killing it, the ultimate bass player. And Romain stepping forward for his solo with his gorgeous smile and black skirt (definitely not a kilt -- he often wears women's vintage clothes). This one slays me every time! And I have great appreciation also for the videographer's dance. The incredible angles. Knowing where to position himself every moment for great shots. >sigh
The entire red suspender outfit street concert they put on is unbelievably good And Ren described once how he does the street mix and I think he said that he used cell phone for inputs too? Maybe for the mics or different instruments maybe? I could be wrong about that
There's a split second during the guitar solo when you can see the faces of all three on guitar. (sorry to Glen (the drummer) - he's actually a great guitar player/singer - but of them all he's the best drummer) You can see the sheer enjoyment of Gorran, Romain and Ren... big smiles all. They play for the love of the music which is why the crowds gather. You can tell when someone is just "phoning it in".
Whenever I see The Big Push videos from this day of busking, I can't help but think, "That's one thing I never expected to see...a tiny Frenchman in a beret, a pleated skirt, and knee-high socks, absolutely killing a hard rock guitar solo. It's like watching a Tim Burton film!" They are the party wherever they play, and we get to be here for it.
I love REN's voice on this. The Big Push was such an awesome gathering of massively talented men. Their versatility is beyond compare with the Reggae/ Ska /Rock /Blues/Soul/Rap The full package! The fact they put themselves on pause and went different directions hopefully does not atop them from gathering to do some collaborations I always thought they did not get enough attention.
