The Six Steps of a Cardiac Ablation (from my recent experience)… 1. Arrive at the hospital. 2. Get shaved neck to groin, front and back. 3. When they start putting dozens of monitor patches on you, including defibrillators, you know sh*t’s real. 4. Tell a joke, they all laugh. 5. Wake up 6 hours later with sutures in your groin and a drain taped to your junk. 6. Go home feeling like you’ve been hit in the chest with a sledgehammer. And then afterwards you realize how smooth your heart rhythm is now. Any lingering chest pain subsided over the following three days. It’s been about three weeks now and I’m still waiting for all my chest hair to grow back.
I just had one done. Recovery time was about a week before you can do anything physically challenging. I was out of the hospital same day. Just take care of yourself it feels okay for the first day or so, I noticed some decent bruising and my groin was pretty sore for a day or two
@@beckymc5235 doing a lot better, completely noticed a change with my body. I don’t feel so stressed out and rushed all the time and all in all feel really good after having it done. The recovery was awesome
I will undergo ablation procedure on this thursday 25th Mei 2022. Quite afraid of getting worsen condition after the procedure.Even I am thinking to postpone the procedure. Can U doctor advise me ✋🙂 ?
Im gonna have mine at d. 2 juni. Of couse fear arises in us. Try not to let your thoughts take you away. The moment we are in the theather the doctors are doing their best, and the treatment are very safe. I have the common sleep apnea caused arrythmias, and my chance for surviving 10-15 years after ablation are good, if I also chose to follow my CPAP treatment. Otherwise they cant gurantee me one more year. So I have influence. Good luck my friend. I hope the best for you. 😊 P.S. Eckhart Tolle can make you calm, if you need to be relaxed.
Does anyone know the cost of this procedure? I just got diagnosed with arrhythmia. I'm so upset about and not happy to take medication for life. Hoping this is procedure is my light
I have a cardiac ablation in the 4 days ahead. Is it worth the risk? Does include any risks in the future such as heart attack? may i return to sports normally ? please help me im very depressed.
If you are above 20 then u can easily go through nd their is less chances for pace makers if you are below 20 due to your age your heart veins VN NODE is small is lil bit hectic for doctors to do the procedure

Pretty accurate! I had it done 4 days ago and I still feel like I got hit by a Mack Truck!
I'm doing my ablation surgery next Thursday with a TEE. I'm anxious but know it will be worth it. Having AFib since February has drained me.
How long is recovery time before i can go back to work?

I work a desk job from home. I had my procedure on a Wednesday. I felt like I was at about 80% by Friday, so I waited until the following Monday.
Hmm that's not too bad. I work as a custodian so hard physical labor is required

How was it?
Anyone here with an answer about how they are doing after the procedure??🥺
I did fine. It took a couple of days for the discomfort to subside. Longer for my chest hair to grow back.
My heart is doing fantastic. It takes a few days to get over the soreness but the heart part of it is amazing!
Four months post ablation. Zero A-Fib.
