Hi. I am a Yoruba girl born to parents from Lagos/Abeokuta. I was born and raised in the UK so my Yoruba is poor. However, I’m so so interested and love the Yoruba diaspora. We are one. I have a question, this a Yoruba wedding? Is the Yoruba spoken in Nigeria understood in Benin republic and do the Yoruba’s in Benin republic feel in any way connected to the Yoruba’s in Nigeria/do they like them? I want to know if Yoruba’s feel united. I sincerely hope so.

Yes the Yoruba spoken in Benin is the same as the one spoken in Nigeria. I think they do feel pretty united as the Yorubas in Benin usually have family in Nigeria and vice versa.
