Today i got curious about video coding when I was searching for 480p quality file to save data but found 720p hevc. Thanks to hevc I can enjoy better quality with less data and storage.
Is the use of video codexes the only means of compressing video data? Is there a way that video data can be archived and unarchived for means of transferring video over the internet to be edited. What is the best way of transferring raw uncompressed video over the internet?
Does anyone know where you can get more examples like their syntax explained that way? I am trying to write my own encoder and am having a lot of trouble making more advanced features in it.
Why is any "prediction" needed at all? The encoder has access to all the frames of the uncompressed video, so why doesn't it just construct the residual as the delta between frame n and frame n+1? Maybe this is what was meant, but to me at least, "prediction" implies uncertainty due to incomplete knowledge, which doesn't seem to be the case here.
can you also store the posttransform difference compressed for full recovery? It will weight less if the movement is applied than uncompressed difference.
Salem; thanks for your efforts for giving us the learned videos and i like it. can you help me Sir! I would like to know how can we do the decoding method with c ++ ; thanks in advance.
+lamiaa sayed "An idea" is that you take every frame and compress it like a JPEG image. You probably need to google for exact format details, like how to store the series of JPEG compressed images so it is valid mjpeg.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Video_Coding High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), also known as H.265 and MPEG-H Part 2, is a video compression standard, one of several potential successors to the widely used AVC (H.264 or MPEG-4 Part 10).
Finally a video that actually goes a bit more technical into how it works. It may be 8 years old, but it's still good
Very well explained at the high level. I would like to view a more detailed version of this lecture. Good work.
The best explanation for video coding that i found on the web!
@6:48, the example of prediction is not clear, if you have the 'current' and the 'previous', then what are you predicting?
Thanks Iain - I've just added this link to one of our internal portals in Reuters TV as a useful intro to coding ;)

Great video. Very well explained. Thanks.
so many thanks dear friend
amazing work.. 👏👏👏👍
thank you
very good presentation, it make you understand exactly what is compression video

Distinctive and excellent presentation! Could you share the yuv file so that we can compare the encoding video quality by experiments.
Excellent video. Succinct and comprehensive.
Best video I have ever seen on the subject. Just one question. Why are the red and blue values stored, but not the green?
Great explanation can you please add some more slides

What is the comparison between H-series and MPEG-series of video coding.
Excellent info. Thank you so much!

Awesome explanation.. Thank you Sir..
Hey do u have any idea on h264?
@karthiktdk782 sorry, I long back stopped learning about this topic
Great explanation..thnx buddy
Great explaination thanks
Excellent!

easly understood for the fresher
Can i have an ideaon the algo for mjpeg codec ,I need an implementation in C language

Amazing!
very good
Excellent

Not COmpress- DECompress?
nice content :)
encode + decode = encdec?
codec
(Spanish) codificador + decodificador = codec
That's a good video

Sir can you please help me
mcfly & carlito vous me faite faire quoi la ...
fuck basics, I want advanced
its not useful for me.. i am not satisfied with this explanation,,,
