While that's really good advice and a wise observation, it kinda makes me a bit worried about ITZY, since their debut song shot straight to the top. The last JYP group who did that was MissA, and we all know how that ended. Even TWICE took about a year before they became really popular. Ditto for 2PM and Wonder Girls. JYP staff better be careful how they manage the new maknaes.
Joshua Wong i think their debut is very successful because their concept is unique as a JYP artist and their song also is as a KPop artist in general. Also the timing of their debut. But tbh we really cannot say but yeah I agree they should manage them carefully now that they have a big impact. I think there’s a pressure for their comeback when the debut is this successful. I don't know if I'm going to be able to explain this very well, but JYPE is divided into 4 divisions and each of those divisions, who are run separately, takes care of different groups and each division does whatever they want to. For example, in division 2 is JYP (as an artist), YuBin, HyeLim, GOT7, Itzy. So JYP himself is not actually very involved in other groups concepts and things like that. I tend to see Stray Kids a trail blazer, an anomaly in kpop industry being mostly free to produce their music and image. There is nothing wrong with label creating pop singers. The last JYP group who did that was MissA, and we all know how that ended. Even TWICE took about a year before they became really popular. Ditto for 2PM and Wonder Girls. JYP staff better be careful how they manage the new maknaes.
Joshua Wong i think their debut is very successful because their concept is unique as a JYP artist and their song also is as a KPop artist in general. Also the timing of their debut. But tbh we really cannot say but yeah I agree they should manage them carefully now that they have a big impact. I think there’s a pressure for their comeback when the debut is this successful. I don't know if I'm going to be able to explain this very well, but JYPE is divided into 4 divisions and each of those divisions, who are run separately, takes care of different groups and each division does whatever they want to. For example, in division 2 is JYP (as an artist), YuBin, HyeLim, GOT7, Itzy. So JYP himself is not actually very involved in other groups concepts and things like that.

I was not expecting that, Chan is a such an amazing composer and I'm so surprised that he is able to put in so many different elements into Stray Kids' music. He writes a large amount of the lyrics too, I love him so much, he's a perfect leader.
I came back to this clip to reminisce, too. Seem prophetic now what jyp said about organic growth. Now rookie groups would have huge stream, big view counts out of the gate, and gushing fans with debut EP. Stray kids earned every fan and every victory with their bare hands; no instant success, only time tested track record. Now skz music is heard all around the world and the group became million album seller twice in 7 months.
I tend to see Stray Kids a trail blazer, an anomaly in kpop industry being mostly free to produce their music and image. There is nothing wrong with label creating pop singers. However for ppl appreciate artistic endeavor, Stray Kids is building support and respect among industry ppl, fans, and casual music listeners.

I really love JYP's mature insight to 3RACHA's music production. He's doesn't make any negative commentary but positive ones.
