Both bass and guitar can be complex instruments, it just happens to be that bass usually gets the simple part’s because it’s just what fits best for the song. You want complex bass?, play some Tool baselines or play orions bass solo and play them exactly like the songs 🤘

Their songs sounds good and Jack White played Bass on his Guitar when the Elephant album comes out, but not even the entirety of those songs have bass lines. So yeah.
