So much helpful information! Thank you so much. It’s either out of Walden which starts next month or Wilkes for the spring. The videos you posted are very informative.
Thank you sooo much for your videos . Very informative . I am planning to take the same route . Thanks for your honest review on Wilkes. I think I’ll just go in with the exceptions of just find my own preceptor I also see that Walden is now accredited however the cost is much more than Wilkes.
Thanks for watching!!! Yea don’t get me wrong it’s not terrible but I wouldn’t have appreciated some transparency upfront. The FB community is a saving grace. So be sure to join the groups. You will do well!!
Hello: Well, I attempted the Wilkes PMHNP certificate. Wilkes did accept my "3P's". The nursing orientation was CRAZY!! I withdrew before the start of the class. I think I will make another attempt in September. I guess I better start looking for a preceptor now. Did you find the professors helpful and do they respond timely to emails?
Hey Wanda! What do you mean the orientation was crazy? Please elaborate. Inquiring minds would love to know. Lol. I did not email professors often enough to answer. However, when I did which was 2-3 times they did respond in a timely fashion.
@@Dr.ReeseNP I was registered for the Post-Master's PMHNP certificate, on-line program. Before the start of the semester (May 23), there was a Nurse Orientation in LIVE. The orientation opened about 3 weeks before the start of class. It was Pass or Fail and was a non credit introductory course. It provided all the information you needed to participate in and pass the course; it was a tutorial. It covered accessing the library, Turn it In (for the APA papers), how the proctor exam work, how to participate in the discussions, etc. The information was covered in great detail. You were required to submit an small article review in APA format and introduce yourself in a discussion board. My girlfriend said there was a small quiz attached to introduce you to the process. It was just enough information to inform the professor you could properly navigate through the course. If you did not complete the "Nurse Orientation" , you were unable to start your classes. It was 5 modules of information. My girlfriend said it amounted to 49 pages of information. She nor I completed the orientation. I would have officially started the program on Monday, May 23. We have been looking at other online programs, but I will make another attempt for Wilkes in September. I know what to expect and my life should be a little calmer.
Wow!! Thanks so much for sharing. I do recall having to complete the nursing orientation. To be honest, I muscled through it and didn’t put much effort into anything. I’m not sure if they changed it or not but at the time it wasn’t an overwhelming or undoable amount of work. I would definitely give it another go.
Hi Ni, I cannot recommend the RN to MSN at Wilkes as that is not the path that I took with them. Therefore, I do not know if they give a BSN after completing the MSN program. Please visit Wilkes directly for a more details.
First, ty so much!! I finished my bsn from Capella in less than 10wks! I want FNP, and wanted to know what you think about Herzing University? 16-20 mos average completion time frame.
Congratulations 🎊. From my research I’ve seen that preceptors are not keen on students from Herzing. I don’t know how true that is. I’d advise on reaching out to current students or recent graduates to find out more.
Hello. Enjoyed your video. If I may, what was the 2-day trip to their facility for that head-to-toe assessment like? Were they strict? I'm told I have to fly to PA for two days there.
Heyyy…I’m new to your channel and I’m starting the pmhnp program at Wilkes in the fall. Thanks for the info, I had no clue about this clinical stuff. Any advice heading into the program??
Congratulations Victor!!! Most of my advice is pretty much in the videos. I will say, you’ll cause yourself less stress if you have a preceptor in mind prior to beginning clinical. So, if you don’t have one start looking now. Other than that, utilize the resources provided in the vídeos and you’ll be fine. The program is doable.
I am looking at Wilkes for a PM AGPCNP and this information has been very helpful! I am sure that I will choose Wilkes, especially for the cost and time, but placement is a concern. Wait? Preceptors are making people pay??? Wow, i know that this can be a personal issue, but can you give tips on how to go about it aligned with Wilkes protocols...TIA

Did you complete this PMHNP or are you still in it?
Is the clinical placement one of the reason you changing to Capella? I had planned to apply to Wilkes but now you have changed my mind.
Hey Apollo. Capella does not have any advance practice programs. So, I am not thinking of transferring to Capella or any other school for that matter.
Are the exams self proctored and do they allow open book
Yes & No.
I was accepted to Wilkes for fall semester. I chose this school because they confirmed that they fine placement. I’m a little upset.
I hope your experience is better. 💛
Do you recommend the ASN (rn) to msn(pmhnp)?
Does Wilkes give BSN after you complete the msn program?

Hey! Thanks for watching. I didn’t have to do the 2-day residency due to covid restrictions. I did the alternate video residency.
Really nice person. I'm sorry, but did she say she had to do a video recording of doing an assessment?
Yes, due to covid. It was with a mock patient.

Thanks for watching! And, yes I will go live later this week to discuss.
