Met Rutledge a couple times while working NASCAR races several years ago. This is exactly what he's like in person. Gracious with his time, happy to talk to anyone about whatever.
This is by far my favorite episode I've watched of you guys. I absolutely love Rutledge and all he is about. Was lucky to briefly meet him one day at Mecum and he is certainly one of those people that if you are asked who would love to spend a day with? He is in top 3 easily.
You guys talked about Hollister Hills for literally a second and my ears perked up! Hollister is my little hometown, well not so little anymore, little south of the Bay Area. Whenever anyone talks about Hollister I’m just like “HEY NO ONE EVER TALKS ABOUT MY HOMETOWN!”😂

(Brit here) Stopped caring about UK top gear around season 17 because it had fully swung away from cars and became nothing more than a comoedy show with predicatable and simplistic jokes, seriously go look at the episode list and you realise they only had 1 feature car per episode! The less decerning people that were so easily entertained by TGuk usually disregard any other form *purely* because its not TGuk and have no actual objective reason, They probably also liked watching jeremy kyle and prison break if you know what I mean. I really enjoyed TG USA with Rutledge, Tanner and Adam especially the moonshine episode (that caddy jump was truly impressive), same again with top gear Aus with Charlie Cox, Steve Pizzati and Warren Brown, It's nice to see what car culture is like in different continents as opposed to just children shouting.

Regarding the supercharged Subaru Sambar, Kei car's power is limited to 64 hp so while the supercharger does sound awesome all it gets you is more torque... i mean hopefully IDK. But still that sounds awesome 👍

I tired to buy a car last year that wasnt black, white, silver or gray and it was impossible to find one that was speced well, had the right milage and was in good shape for a reasonable price.
Got a great deal on a ‘07 6-6 Accord Coupe in San Marino Red, initially was bummed it wasn’t black or white. Now I’m so happy with the color (Last model year for generation and top trim/manual)
I think I’ve heard Hert and some of the guys at Hoonigan talk about it as a sabbatical. Off pursuing a cool project/opportunity. No return ETA, nor is there a guarantee, but the door is open. He does have his own RUclips channel and shop space. But he was doing those things before KBs passing, the Hoonigan shift, and Hotwheels.
I am calling BS on the 5.0 Lamborghini urban myth. The 07K VW block was cast iron and none of the parts in the VW are interchangeable in the engine, the earliest BGP code was launched in 2006, it has the same bore/stroke but 150hp @5000. The 5.0 has an all alloy block was launched in 2003, 530hp @ 7800rpm. Yes there are parts shared with other VAG cars, coil packs etc, but the internal architecture of the engines are different, hence your Mk5 Golf not revving to 7800 in 2007. The main weak point of the early 5.0s were the Catalytic converters, this early style of Cat breaks down and gets sucked back in. Change this to a modern cat and it's fine. The 5.0 also has a different firing order and a howl like an LFA instead of the wookie 5.2 and is sought after by alot of people because of this. Also the Lambo engine crane is another point of contention. You raise the rear of the car a foot off the ground nose down and use a 2 post lift to raise the V12 engine/gearbox out using the same tool you brace a fwd engine with when you do a clutch across the two rear jack points. No aircraft cranes or 12ft hoists needed. This was how I did the clutch on my Murci and radiator pipe replacement.
