What a different world it was back in those days. Going My Way is one of the greatest movies of all time and very few people even know about it anymore. Such a shame.
Occasionally you will see its sequel, The Bells Of St. Mary's, aired during the holidays. But you're right though; Going My Way seems to be forgotten and it's a shame because it's actually the better of the two films

Oh, I wish choir direction was that easy.
All their vowels were properly formed at least. I've sung in various choirs since I was 12 and now I'm 36 so I know from whence I type. But it's easy with a syllable like "Bah" lol!
@jimk4780. - Alas, you’re right ! I created / directed a girls’ choir in a South Philly school for a couple years… Those lovely, sweet girls could NOT hold down ANY. Alto harmony to save their lives, unless my mom was sitting & singing amongst them. Lol 😂. Ahh, well …. ❤ (I’m watching this great film,Going My Way, on TCM as we speak… thinking how preposterous this choir bit is… ) . Lol 😝 🤷♀️ Anyway … it’s a nice, very sweet thought !
When you're looking for something to help you sleep .. Great movie
You’re obviously a connoisseur of great films. Perhaps modern-day Hollywood is much better suited for you.

I used to love watching this when I was a kid, then I learned that he hated kids. Now it’s not so much fun to look at anymore.
At least Alfalfa never upstaged Bing Crosby
