This machete / Knife is actually lighter than the ESEE Junglas and the Junglas 2 .
Weighs a whopping 15 ounces !!
Really feels great in hand !!
And they outdid themselves by adding a nice Micarta handle .
I have like a dozen or so machetes from all over the world , and this just might be my favorite 🤩.
I was going to wait to shoot the vid but the machete was begging me to be picked up and used haha .

I believe it’s a pairing of company on your blade I actually think it’s made in the condor factory and the design comes from esse. I think I read this somewhere. But it’s definitely a outstanding blade and I can’t think of a better person to own such a awesome piece of cutlery. You rock my brother. Stay sharp and happy hunting. I am dreaming about that muela video you are planning. I can’t wait. I am working on something that just mite get me the muela magnum 26 right after the first of the year. I pray it goes trough. Yeah I’ve been sitting on quite a few new blades that I will be showing in 21 .
I’ve had this for a few weeks now and it was just begging me to be used . Haha ...
I kept picking it up and twirling around .
It’s so light ( little more than 15 ounces ).
I’m really digging the handle !!
I refer to this as my “ Chete - Knife “ now .
I banged the heck out of the blade on some hard wood just to see if there would be any dings or dents , and I’m happy to report no signs of damage .
Still pretty sharp too !
After I shot this video , I was curious to see if anyone else had bought this and posted a video .
There were a couple .
One guy ( Everyday Tactical Vids ) posted a much better video ( he really knows his blades so yes ... he’s one of us ) haha .
He was more specific and his demonstration was better IMO .
The funny thing I noticed was that he basically said the same things I had said .
( oh - he didn’t light a fire 🔥 though haha ).
I actually had no problem getting all the shavings off the Fatwood .
Was easy compared to my ESEE 6 .
I was struggling with that one for some reason ( seems sharp but I guess not sharp enough ).
Still one of my favorite blades though .
I have a dozen or so machetes that are all decent .
I think the Tramontina are the best ( I have a 12” and an 18 “ and they are really awesome - especially at those prices you won’t find a better machete ).
Again -- In My Opinion.
But this ESEE is really something .
Reminds me of the Condor Australian Army machete and the ESEE Junglas combined .
Great Idea Indeed !!! ( if that was what they were shooting for ).
Bottom line ?

It’s actually lighter than both ( just over 15 ounces).
I banged the heck out of it on some really hard wood and the blade stayed nice and sharp ( no dings or dents like some other machetes I have ).
I’ve been preparing for Season 3 ( the collection has grown ), and wanted to wait to shoot this vid , but this ESEE kept begging me to be used .
So as you cab tell , I am very happy with this bad boy .

Hi Cowboy, tried out my Darien today. It works extremely well, but I found that the sheath lock is a little too short to buckle up. Did you encounter the same problem?

Quite flimsy for a canvas sheath .
If I wasn’t already overwhelmed with my collection, I would of had another made already .
Either canvas or leather .

Reminds me of the old Hudson blades by looks ….
I have that machete and it's awesome. They could shorten the blade to 5 inches leaving all else the same and sell a boatload as a knife. So much better than many of the Condor blades.

It's made by Condor for Esee, so you were at least half right brother.
If you want a kydex sheath, check out Black Bear Custom Kydex. He does some amazing work. Nobody is any better than him imho. I have one of his sheaths on my Spyderco Bushcraft UK, and it amazing. He did leather over kydex, so it looks like a blend of old school and modern. Beautiful sheath, with outstanding retention.
