- ET video chats with ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ alum Dorinda Medley from her Berkshires estate, Blue Stone Manor, where she opens up about the writing process behind her new memoir, ‘Make It Nice.’ The reality TV star discusses the hardest parts of putting her life on paper and reflects on her time on ‘RHONY,’ which ended with a ‘pause’ after a very tense season 12, Dorinda's sixth on the show. Dorinda reveals whether any conversations have been had about her rejoining the show for season 14, and reacts to former co-star Ramona Singer saying Dorinda ‘won’t be ready’ to come back to the show so soon. Plus, she shares her thoughts on where the franchise should go amid a lot of tabloid talk about the current season’s faults. ‘Make It Nice’ is available wherever books are sold, and also available as an audiobook read by the author.
My only concern is that Dorinda visibly had a drinking problem -- and hasn't really looked at it AT ALL since getting the boot. And by the way, having a drinking problem doesn't mean you drink all the time. It's about how alcohol affects you WHEN you drink. It's a qualitative thing, not a quantity thing.
Glad she is more peaceful. Watching the last season of her drunken anger on RHONY was painful.

@@karneyt1722 She didn’t admit anything, and said right in this interview that there were a lot worse on the show that never got “paused”. Certain people were way too hard on her.
@John Stone I never said Dorinda was worse than anyone. I commented “I’m glad” on her statement that she said she is more peaceful. Her own words that she was going through a lot and should have sat out that season. End of!

She was slurry drunk at the 7pm dinner, insulted the relief fund organisers then left, before the food arrived, shouting incoherently. Not to mention all the sheer vindictive aggression in every other drunk incident, which was every episode by the time she got binned.
It bothers me she still doesn't recognize her anger. Especially when she drinks. I'd be hiding my head under the pillow in embarrassment. The way she went after Tinsley was nuts. Why does she care so much about her love life. She needs to focus on her own short comings. They're a strong denial of her behavior.

Ramona needs to be done on this show. Her narcissism is no longer tolerable.
If she comes back, Tinsley should also comeback, and Dorinda should spend the whole season apologizing. She was so toxic towards the end, I still cringe.

A bit better place but not enough for my liking… 6:40 case in point as she says she doesn’t really understand why she was put on pause to begin with last year… so not enough self reflection and humility yet in my book to want her back yet

@John Stone I'm not a troll or pushing for anyone. I comment here and there. I really loved Dorinda. I was really disappointed. I expected more. It was hard to watch her carry herself that way. That's it,, that's all.
But you're okay with the other women being mean and hurtful??? Dorinda has admitted she was going through things and that's why she was acting out that season. What is confusing to her and why she doesn't necessarily understand why she was put on pause is the fact that other Housewives on RHONY and the entire franchise in fact have done far worse and weren't fired. They were given a chance to redeem themselves.
Just look at Ramona. How many of you hypocrites are finding Ramona's antics cute but think Dorinda is terrible?
Dorinda is a mean, vicious drunk and she's not much better sober either. The way she zeroed in on Tinsley was just plain cruel and that's who she really is.
Ramona has always harbored jealousy when it comes to Dorinda. Actually, she's jealous of most of the women on the show.

As a matter of fact, Ramona's first venture into business was a partnership she entered into with her former husband, Mario, who was/is a very successful business man when she married him, to launch line of religious jewelry. Mario invested in both her jewelry line and her wine business. Self-made?? Yep, with a little financial backing from a successful spouse with deep pockets.

Yes she thought she was untouchable. Her treatment of Sonja and Tinsley was beyond horrible. I remember with Sonja and Rocco, she kept on inserting that Rocco and Sonja were not dating. I think she's just a jealous person and because Tinaley and Sonja are so likeable and beautiful that it bothered her.
I did hear her in an interview say she was living her life "one day at a time". So maybe she's getting there.

Turns out the "pause" was good for Dorinda. The whole world was paused anyway and y'all haters can't blame her for what is arguably RHONY's worst season. And yet despite being fired/suspended/paused from RHONY plus the pandemic, Dorinda has managed to thrive (ie Nutrisystem, AirBnB, book).
Dorinda will always be my number 1 ❤️
I hope she is at peace, and I hope that she makes the right choices for her well-being. But, if she’s drinking and deflecting I have little interest in watching someone self destruct on tv
She is so spot on about following your gut instinct 👍 As women we're taught to just push that down a lot because we're supposed to be polite and nice😒 and of course in most circumstances we should all be... BUT if you're getting a bad vibe/feeling about someone or some place etc... FOLLOW that‼️ It's something I taught myself and told/taught my kids🤔. Listen to your inner feelings 💕
The show is just not as good without Dorinda. It was a HUGE mistake to fire her. Bring her back Andy!

How can anyone actually not see that Dorinda needed a break from the show? She’s seems like a great lady but the past two seasons she became a bully. Obviously she was having problems that made her feel angry. This was best for her.

This is the Dorinda I love & miss! Some of the confrontations she was involved in (often fueled by alcohol) were viscous & her behavior would be so vile, yet she rarely took accountability, or perhaps had no memory of it. She’d get defensive & in a way use it to avert attention elsewhere, or wear people down until they’d concede. I sincerely hope she’s learned to take positive criticism. I would love to see her back! Replace Ramona with Dorinda!

Ah well… we all have our blind spots… I personally don’t want her back until she’s humbled herself a bit more… I realize lots of people want her back though, including bravo at least a bit if they’re giving her air time on the new Housewives mashup/All stars show…

Absolutely , sadly she is caught up in the matrix of reality television 📺 and extending her 15 minutes of fame . The character the viewers saw on television 📺 is her true self .She rather get in adulation from the audience. Then work on her true self . From my view she is deeply insecure as I saw on the show . She doesn’t like when others do better than her .
Talking about blind spots, you certainly have several if you're going to ignore what the other ladies have done over the years. And that's what she meant. We've all been witness to the horrible things the Housewives have done and not get fired/paused. Ramona is a prime example of that. Dorinda have admitted in several interviews that that was a bad season for her and goes on to explain why she was acting out.

Dorinda was stressed out, the RHONY women drink A LOT. When you drink a lot and your under unbelievable amounts of stress it doesn't always end well. Made her seem angry and bitter... the pause was warranted. Gave her time to reset, and look at her now she's doing brilliant. Zen Dor! She may have been able to reset on camera, but she may not and it could have spiralled, like the Countess. Maybe Bravo didnt want that for Dorina. Either way we miss her and want her back! ❤
I’m with Ramona. Dorinda’s last season was so dark. Between her drunkenness and abusive verbal outbursts, it was time for her to leave.

Keep all the current cast, bring back dorinda and Tinsley and 1 new housewife. I think they need to introduce someone really old money rich that navigates the upper east side social scene. I miss that about the old seasons of New York. Watching the ladies at opulent parties in amazing NY locations.

Richard would definitely still know Dorinda. I lost a partner in 1999 and time still flies by. Loved Dorinda, but could empathise and felt for her because of Richard's passing. If you're reading these comments Dorinda, you looked stunning in your wedding picture. I've just started watching what is Dorinda's last season and it was heart-breaking watching her be so upset at the vineyard, that was yesterday's episode for me. I would air bnb it but not in the shark room Dorinda. LOL.
