There will probably be no update or fix without actually sending the device to Moog to fix it, there is no fixing an Analog sythersizor without physical correction.
I have Aturia Mini V VST sounds very similar to Me, I have a Behringer Monopoly keyboard sythersizor and it's good quality sounds good, they do the Poly D in the same desighn but different coloure, I am thinking of getting the Behringer Model D desktop sythersizor and running it from midi from My Monopoly.
Playing a moog model d is an experience.. just like playing their modular gear is as well 55,35, etc). There's something inspiring about sitting down in front of their gear. It's like buying a high end Truck or car

I can confirm my after pressure is more or less a gate. I like to route the after pressure CV to the modulation input, then you can mix between the after pressure and osc. 3 to get some nice rhythmic opening and closing. I just e-mailed them about this as well... did you get any response?

Congratulations on your new Model D. Many synths try to imitate it, but none can hit it exactly. Have you tried adjusting the aftertouch amount pot on the back of the synth? If it's maxed out, the CV could be going too high too quickly.
I'm sure it will get addressed. I drive through Asheville once in a while, so I can always stop at the factory and have them look at it if it's a hardware thing.

@@synthseeker Uh, I guess? It just means you watched his demo of the Minimoog vs Poly D, or one of his other Minimoog vids. He has a distinct style for a RUclips demo guy … I mean playing wise. And he likes that sound you use-detuning the different oscillator to a 4th (maybe?)-and plays the same notes in almost the same way. So it’s like an homage, I guess?

Lucky you! My model d reissue is better than my original from 1973. Filter now tracks perfect every octave. Also new is single/multi trigger option. Allows fast retrig without hangs. I've tried several eurorack model d filter clones. None of them sound as sweet and rich as the real D.
Yes it´s Moog, yes it´s a real minimoog but you could also get the Behringer Model-D for a fraction of the cost and still get the exact sound. But a purist won´t agree ;-)
It isn’t just a purist thing. Behringer is a different product. Cheap Chinese gear has a place in the market but it isn’t exactly fair to compare it to a handmade product that’s made in Asheville, NC.
It's fantastic that a company is remaking a classic, I wish more companies would do it. Roland have a way of messing up their own product's lol. For the price it should have no issue's though.
I have not noticed any drift yet, but I do let it warm up for 15 minutes before using and the temperature in my studio is stable...also the manual suggests letting it warm up as well. :)
@@synthseeker I know the MoogOnes are notorious for expelling heat, this isn't the same for the D? Heat in an un air-conditioned room would only make it worse for staying in tune.
I had owned a Moog One and I know the tuning issues associated with it very well. This does not have that problem, and they moved the power supply to an external box that then uses a standard grounded plug. So the power supply is outside the case...keeping things more stable.
@@synthseeker Pretty sure the MoogOne had more PCBs than normal, making things heat up quicker. External PSU is smart too, specifically when you have a larger than average sized synth. Looking forwards to a full demo.
I don’t know if they do but most synth companies do…that’s just business. I have a semi modular from them and it sounds completely different to me…but ears belong to individuals. If it sounds the same to you, save your money!
So... how many of your kidneys and how many firstborns did you have to sell to afford one of these? Personally i cannot see how the bloody hell Moog can actually justify SIX THOUSAND EUROS for this thing. Especially in this economy where nobody has money to even buy food.

This has better quality of life (allegedly…we shall see) and the same cost or slightly cheaper for a new unit. I can understand the business decision. The vintage models are in the 12k range! As for kidneys or children…I just signed a pact in blood 🩸. ;)
Especially given you can get a Voyager for way less than that. The Mini neither has the routing options or the extra features to justify that price. I own three Moogs btw. Voyager, LP, Moog One 16 voice ($8000 I gladly paid for options this thing couldn't dream of)
I loved the Moog One from a usage standpoint…easy to program, a dream to play. However mine had two voice boards that refused to be stable enough for my personal requirements. I’m picky about tuning. Most of my synths are digital and I sold the One for that reason. Frustration on my part made me sell it. I had a voyager RME maybe…15 years ago? I liked it very much but too many features lived in menus. Again I sold it and don’t regret it, but agree it is a very feature rich Moog surpassed only by the One. But I prefer the simplicity of the mini. As for the Phatty family, they are tons of fun and I have an SSQ37CV that I will never let go of. Great synth. Great line. The Phatties are under-rated IMO. By comparison I also own three Arp 2600s and an Odyssey all of which can out perform a Mini in terms of modulation options. A Moog does have a distinctive wonderful sound but it's a sound I already have in both the Voyager as well as the LP. I just paid $5000 for the OBX8 which sounds amazing. I also paid about $3500 for the Two Voice Pro several years ago. So, I am willing to spend money but in this case I feel Moog is really just appealing to collectors. If I get another Moog it will be a Sub 37.
I would lose respect for someone who actually bought this. This is a synth for hipsters and wannabes who are all about CHANEL hand bags and they're more about fashion and brand identity instead of being actually about the music. This Moog is a lot less musical than the whole orchestra of 7x Behringer Poly D's or the 15x Behringer Model D's you can buy for the same money. This Moog is for fake people.

Some of us are synth enthusiasts who like Behringer *AND* Moog, and respect the history and evolution of synths and we have small or large collections of music making tools. Some of us just collect because we love synths, and some of us buy synths to have an "orchestra" to work with. What we buy and why is personal, and this video shows me being enthusiastic about *finally* being able to get a piece of history the way I want it to be. If that makes you respect me less, so be it. I've never seen you post on the channel, so I'm not sure if the dozens of music making tutorials I share will make you respect me *more* to offset my purchase of the Moog, but regardless you are welcome here as long as you are rational, and accept that people have views on synths different from yours. A little late to the party, but isnt the velocity sensitivity adjustable by the little trim pot next to the jack?
Do you mean for the after pressure? Yes but it’s depth not time/slope. It’s not a problem though I solved it with a slew limiter. ;)

No response but I’ve started using an external eurorack slew module in most cases and that makes it a good deal more usable. Not perfect but not bad.

Yes I tested that. The pot only affects the range, not the curve. We'll see what they do about it.
The after touch as is seems a bit disappointing. Reminds me the after touch in my JX8P- I basically had to step on it with both feet

I think the filters on Korg's own MS-20 software emulation sound great, but I've never owned the genuine article.
I had an MS-20 mini, loved it but sold it. One day I’ll own a full sized…till then the emulations will have to do.

It's a great synth with a reason it exists.
Rich in harmonics, old school and still affordable.
