Fantastic to hear these early Prefab tunes again! I saw them live in 83/84 in Newcastle and have loved them ever since.

No problem! These recording are actually sorta special to me, especially with the fact that this is the one recording of Lions that I can post on RUclips without it being taken down

That live version of Bonny is fantastic. Without Wendy, without keyboards. Raw and fast. So different and so good. I love all versions but this is just new to me! Thanks again!

Oh really, is Lions one of those tracks that's mysteriously blocked worldwide then?

Love these versions. Never heard that first song either. Should have been on Swoon. Thanks for sharing!

    This is Prefab gold!! Brilliant!
Playing in a "traditional" four piece band, I now know how we might play Prefab songs on stage, hopefully approaching as Paddy would have intended 41 years ago.
Bonny is incredible here!! Technique is very close to the album version, love that song so much, the energy is unmistakable, probably even more energetic in this performance - the quiet jazzy sections are played so beautifully on the drums by Neil. Beautiful guitar and bass work too before the majestically-tumultuous coda. Amazing. Diana version is cool and thrashy here, but the album version is tender and sensitive, and that's where the real beauty exists in the song. Green Isaac is spot on! That song was fully-formed, was the gig after the album release? Same question re. Hallelujah - all of Wendy's harmonisations are as per the album version, she sang, and they played, the album version. Beautiful.
There's no singer like Paddy tho, obviously. And, obviously, no songwriter like Paddy too. And add to that, they're the best band ever, of course. Pure magic. A band of the ages...

These immediately sound like cold squats in london... the smell of french tobacco and full ashtrays... oil paints and young artist types sitting on dirty floors with cheap cans of carling. Good times were had.
