my chromebook this model broke just letting the top close. i brought it to best buy where i bought it & they send it out 4 repair but it could be up to 4 weeks to get back. couldnt wait that long so i bought a different model asus chromebook on sale that closes softer, although im much more careful closing it now.
I'm so sorry to bother and given this was posted 8 months ago you may not see this but feel like I should try. I have a XE521QAB that seems very similar. I hope I didn't just miss it but could you please tell me where the cmos battery is in these? I only removed the main battery and the motherboard the night before I watched this. Apparently this is not a real popular model or maybe it is not typically problematic. I can't find much info and I am so dumb to all of this. Thank you so much and sorry again to bother
Is the gpu inside the display section or the section that holds pretty much everything? Trying to fix my brother's chromebook's screen since the gpu went bad on it...lines streaked across the screen and everything but when hooked up to an external monitor it still worked
You probably need most of a complete assembly now, check out this one www.ebay.com/itm/EX525QBB-K01US-GENUINE-SAMSUNG-LCD-11-6-TOUCH-XE525QBB-EX525QBB-K01US-A-AF86/274074943311?hash=item3fd023bf4f:g:k2IAAOSwY9pdufFn:sc:USPSPriority!89511!US!-1
It depends on where the looseness is. If its the case side then you can see the hinge screws when you remove the bottom case and tighten there. Otherwise you would need to open the LCD assembly.
Mine remained strong for 6 months until the metal right one jam in closed position while opening, causing que plastic shell of the screen end of the hinge to break and free the metal hinge fixing. :..(
You'll find a better answer asking the village idiot than Google, so being the village idiot I'm asking you... When I play Battle of Warships my audio makes a crackling sound momentarily as it loads, the water looks like it has no definition but should have at least minimal...at almost exactly 1 minute in it freezes up. It will play golf rival and other video games but not battle of warships...I have a second Chromebook I'm using right now and it's brand new...to sum it up Battle of Warships works on this one but not on my other...Is the motherboard and video starting to fry out or do you think possibly the antennas broken and it's just not getting the signal It did before?I'm kind of leaning on motherboard burning out...Any ideas anyone?
My bad I also meant to ask is it possible it needs to be opened up and vacuumed out literally getting all the dust and dirt out of it? Cuz it possible static electricity jumping all over might be doing something? It's been in service for three years even the keyboard has pretty much stopped working I have an external plugged into it... I'm not afraid to not use it anymore I'm just kind of curious as to whether it finally is going to cook out.
Under the heatsink on the top right. MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THE CONDUCTIVE METALLIC STICKER after removing the screw. It will still show up as write protected if you don't.
is it possible to reassemble it after you do dissemble it?
Were is the SSD/HDD at I did not see it
That is what I was looking for.

Is it possible to tighten the hinge on this chromebook? If so, how?

Ty kinda bc now I can go on my computer:
Keyboard removal?
Held in place with melted plastic rivets, you would need to break them to remove the keyboard.
