Have you considered moving the furnace closer to the kill box? It would make the hauling of corpses faster and keep the sight of dead bodies to a minimum.

curious why you keep the standard meditation spot around instead of just having steak meditate on his throne, which will eventually make his meditation more efficient because the more a psycaster focuses on an object while meditating the stronger it is for them.

You haven't focused too much on the royalty DLC itself this playthrough, so grabbing that Honor and ascending the ranks would I think be most interesting, if maybe not the most optimal. And a vegetarian colony is an interesting idea! There often isn't much point in keeping animals for food products otherwise, as from what I've seen regular hunting and, well, events like this warg army seem to keep up fairly well with meat-type product demands. Protecting and feeding enough animals to keep you in eggs, milk, etc would be a neat challenge I think. Now that your food supply generally is quite stable, it might be time to shake things up and make it a bit more interesting to feed everyone again...
Hey, Pete! For the question you posed, I think you should absolutely take the quest since there's no reason not to do so! You have all the materials you could need and some capable fighters among the ranks of the colony! I'd probably go for the goodwill since you don't want Steak getting any more rankings in royal titles right now and, as much as I could see a benefit to the Eltex vest, the goodwill is likely to be more helpful in the long term. Keep up the good work! I've lovin' this series!
I kinda like how steak and troy make distinct sculptures. Like they have thier own style. Steak makes abstract art while Troy likes making caricatures.

I think you should take the easy 5 tribes person quest! Get Steak into Knighthood, make Edmo jealous! I love the social play going on with this playthrough, it's an excellent style you have going
This story is so enraging. I can almost imagine a quality series built around post apocalyptic desert environment where a new empire is spreading out it’s influence, and a small household rising through power with it’s unique members and their personal strength and quirks. Definitely better plot than a lot of real series.

I was taught that any colonists within a 3x3 square of each other could not physically cause friendly fire, yet here is Edmo to prove me wrong. I legitimately have never, EVER, had such a close range friendly fire incident.
I for one think you should take the quest. I'd like to see Steak advance in royal status. The complications will make for some interesting fun I'm sure and my girlfriend and I love watching the adventures of Steak and Co. I hope you're as much fun playing as we are watching.
The statue Steak made at 3:53 is labeled Scarcity, and depicts trees, in a region where wood is typically scarce and its only source is from cactus. It even gets placed out in one of the fields, as if it to say, "we make our own wood here, even out of stone". I'm late to the party with this, but I felt the statue was far more interesting than a simple beauty booster.

I would've vote for a reputation bonus in this quest. While honor and knight title does indeed look promising the largest minus in this option is an increased royal requirements, such as bigger throne room and bedroom, and also a better food. And while throne room and bedroom requirements are more or less achievable at this point of the game, I think making another stack of fine meals for royal dining might be a little bit... overkill. On second thought, you might have more than enough meat with that last warg raid you had in the last minutes of current episode... So, the choice is yours. I'll support either of those choices as long as you keep playing smart. Good luck, commander.
A suggestion: You could add a couple of sandbags in front of the doors in the killbox. Since you're having your pawns pop out of them to shoot at intruders, you might as well give them some cover while they're at it. Great episode as always!
TY for showing the social tabs - it's something I was similarly curious about. Your content is completely in a category of it's own - really hoping you'll keep doing more games like this, ones which don't rely on fps/arcade-game type gameplay.

I say absolutely do the quest. 5 tribesmen vs Edmo in marine armor and a shield belt don't stand a chance! For the reward, I don't know what an Eltek vest is, but I see it keep coming up as a reward, so I assume there's something special about it. If it's no good though, I would say go for the Goodwill bonus instead, and get your reputation up with the empire, I think getting closer to friendly with them is better than hitting the next royalty rank at this point.
Definitely take the quest - it seems pretty straightforward and you can probably handle the increased requirements for Knights. A couple of points about floors: - The kitchen seems to have a sand floor, which is very meta (dirt floors don't count as "dirty" for food poisoning) but a little unrealistic. Sterile tiles would be nicer, and you can probably afford them. - The doorway into Steak & Redhawk's bedroom has no floor, which means they keep spreading dirt through the main living area.
Hey Pete, I'm currently using Chickens in my own Desert Playthrough and I've got to say, they are absolutely worth the investment. However, especially in the beginning, they require a lot of maintenance since you have to keep an eye on their numbers and balance them out rather momentarily, since they will spiral out of control otherwise. I had one 16 eggs batch being delivered to the wrong storage and didn't see them there, which lead to my colony being swamped by little chicks a few minutes later. But when it comes to food and meat replacement, they're worth every penny. BR from Heidelberg
I like the idea of making the Steakhouse a vegetarian haven. This playthrough is somehow becoming even more of the polar opposite of Cambiar's settlement: not only is the stage set in a really warm climate instead of a really cold one, with settlers being included much more quickly, but you are aiming for a colony founder that doesn't eat any kind of flesh, human or non-human. Then again, it's more of a challenge this way, so I'll let you decide on whether the rise in difficulty is okay for you. I'm sure I'll find it entertaining either way.
I'd go for the Honor Pete. If you progress Steak to Knight, he can have points to use to call for aid. At Knight rank, I think you'd have access to 2 points. Usually the first one I would use it for is Transport Shuttle. The second one you'd want is Aero Strike which can help against raids or even quests. The Eltex Vest isn't worth it. The vest takes the middle layer slot so it means you can't wear flak vests or even marine armour. And since it barely provides any protection, its very risky. I'd much rather keep the protection afforded by being able to wear a flak vest at least. Flak vest in combination with like a devilstrand duster can provide better protection than a marine armour.
Yes to the quest, and I would take the honor. You should get quite a bit of steel as part of deconstructing the camp loot, so I’d take that into account when planning the return trip (either by caravan or building new pods and launchers at the camp).
You really have to accept the quest for the +5 Honor. It drives your colony with some unique goals. You build drop pods, send the team, easily take down some tribesman, loot a bunch of pemmican and medicine. Then you'll have a fun time with your home base only having a skeleton crew. We don't know where the mission is on the map, but there's a possibility your caravan could even do a trade run while it's out. You'll have to start thinking about a throne room, but you'll also have more advanced psychic powers which can be game changing.
Would go for Honor personally. 5 enemies are not so much and with drop pods there is usually enough steel to drop pod back as well so it should be quick. Additional permits can help greatly in tought situations. Great series, wouldn't mind 2 episodes per week. :)
Today I learned that if a pawn doesn't have the Greedy, Jealous or Abrasive trait they do not get inabilities. Thanks to this episode on cleaning xD I'll now be able to accept all the honors :)
The outpost quest seem like a good idea, for either the goodwill or the honor. For having already done quests where you have to heal blood rot, it's not that difficult to deal with (I'm not even sure you need herbal medicine), but a size 3 cluster would have been too dangerous, especially considering your current level of equipment.
I love the idea of having a vegetarian colony! That will certainly add a bit of an interesting challenge. Also, the sounds of dying animals in this game breaks my heart
For future reference: Blood rot doesn't always need to be tended to with meds. You can do a handful of treatments with no meds, and once you notice the blood rot getting higher, you can treat with herbal etc. So, 5 meds a day isn't a true figure. The quest would have probably been great to accept in conjunction with the wargs in hopes they could take out the cluster
IMO, I think you should do the quest and go for the honor, I think it would make the most interesting content to see you progress up the ranks with the faction to show off the new expansion. Good luck and I look forward to the next episode!

The outpost quest seem like a good idea, for either the goodwill or the honor.
For having already done quests where you have to heal blood rot, it's not that difficult to deal with (I'm not even sure you need herbal medicine), but a size 3 cluster would have been too dangerous, especially considering your current level of equipment.
I love the idea of having a vegetarian colony! That will certainly add a bit of an interesting challenge. Also, the sounds of dying animals in this game breaks my heart

For future reference: Blood rot doesn't always need to be tended to with meds. You can do a handful of treatments with no meds, and once you notice the blood rot getting higher, you can treat with herbal etc. So, 5 meds a day isn't a true figure. The quest would have probably been great to accept in conjunction with the wargs in hopes they could take out the cluster

IMO, I think you should do the quest and go for the honor, I think it would make the most interesting content to see you progress up the ranks with the faction to show off the new expansion. Good luck and I look forward to the next episode!
