AO-xxxx is a Hammond part number. The following 6 digits are the EIA manufacturer's code and the date code so 575 is Heppner and the last three would be the final digit of the year made and the week of the year, so 544 would be the 44th week of 1965. They were in Hammond L100 spinets which were sold between 1961 and '71. Some EIA codes are 2 digits, for example Eminence is 67 so the maker/made code will be 5 digits. There's a full EIA list on the web. Lowry organs often have Jensen P12Ns installed, tube amp'd Hammonds Heppners. There are also 12" Heppners with bigger magnets and voice coils that were installed in juke boxes, at least 30 watts. The 15" Heppners from the 60 watt 7591 power tube Hammond H100 are astonishing. Years ago I made a vertical 3x15 with them, staggered baffle like a sideways V. I had a Pignose G40V 6L6 Bassman based amp, I had no pkace to play it, it was SO LOUD lol. Hopefully the prices on these Heppners won't spike too high like the square magnet OEM Eminences have since your reveal of those a few years ago. They're nearing $100 a piece. Reverb Heppner prices are getting Reverb-stupid, hopefully there won't be too many chuckleheads buying them for $100+.
Some info I found: Hammond used these Heppner alnico speakers as tuned pairs. One speaker would have a ribbed cone and would be voiced for the low end of the organ's tone spectrum and the other one would have a smooth cone and would carry the mid tones. These alnico speakers make great guitar speakers, the idea is to follow the tuned pair concept in a 2 x 12 or 4 x 12 cabinet or use the ribbed cones exclusively. The smooth cones aren't voiced to carry the guitar's spectrum and can be harsh and brittle without the ribbed to balance them out. These are rated at around 20-25 watts.
Darn. Wish I'd read this before I bought one of the smooth coned ones as an impulse purchase! Hopefully it won't be too bad for a darker tweed style amp I'm building!
