This place used to be so, so nice years ago. Full of character and appeal. There was foliage everywhere, and there were several fountains. It's soulless now. Half of the shops are shut now too.

I was wondering, was it early? Or are all those shops close permanently?

This person should get permission to film the whole of the Metrocentre and should have permission to film people walking around, clearly you need permission to film people around the malls

Not in the U.K. Implied right to be recorded if you are in a public or publicly accessible space. Metro centre also can’t make you stop recording - there only right is to trespass you from the property. U.K. doesn’t require 2 party consent to video.

Please delete this video because you don’t have permission to film people walking around the Metrocentre

Nope, it’s a publicly accessible area so you have no implied right to privacy. The only restriction that applies is the owner of the complex (or a representative) or any individual shops can revoke your right of implied access
Per Met Police: “Members of the public and the media do not need a permit to film or photograph in public places”
Similarity ofcom guidelines for journalists state:
Generally, you will not need to obtain the express consent of random people that are merely passing by or who are caught on camera in the background, unless they are to be shown in a negative or pejorative context, thereby requiring consent or the concealing of identities, for example by pixilation.
So in short, unless you are in the changing room at H&M or the toilets, there’s nothing you can do about it. If you don’t want to be identified, wear a face covering like auditors themselves do (not saying the uploader is one)

That is true if you read the customer code of conduct it states clearly you need a permit to record video on the mall and we have a right to tell you to stop recording as its private property

@@joeybev16 You aware this is a U.K. shopping centre, not an American mall, right? Different laws apply.

@@FateBoost yes i am aware of the rules while the law says you don't need permission the centre customer rules dictate very clearly you need permission to film within the centre and yes I am right when I said mall as each sector of the centre is called a mall e.g red mall
