Making all the boys pretty boys, making all of the girls elegant, even the design of the suits themselves looking more feminine than previous iterations of Gundam. Which makes it all the funnier when you know that toonami tried to play it as being this badass thing. Americans so often miss the point.
@@TacComControl the point wasn't missed we just reinterpreted the story from a different point of view . At that point a few shoujo anime had already been released so we got the frame of reference.
These wing prequel mangas always seem to over complicate things by contriving characters to meet way earlier than they do in the show or giving them some weird relation that doesn't really make any sense.
This really felt unnecessary. Honestly, if the basic concept of the story being pitched is a "history of Relena" I'd rather it focus on the fall of the Sanc Kingdom, her escape, and adoption into the Darlians. Similar to what Gundam The Origin did with young Sayla. Which, sure, Relena'd be too young to reasonably participate in this as a character, but it is nevertheless the most interesting thing about her which we don't actually get to see. Her inciting incident as a character is in the first episode of Gundam Wing and prior to that she was just, ya'know, a sheltered rich schoolgirl that needs no more examination than what we can easily infer from her early characterization.
This just doesn't work with the anime at all. This would be like saying in Star Wars that Luke and Leia met on some Tatooine-Alderaan exchange student program when they were 12. While not technically impossible, it's so insanely forced... Like they already had a pre-written template story and just edited in some details to fill a cliche.
I had to stop watching the video the moment Heero showed up because... that's just dumb. I watched the rest after several minutes of rambling to myself over how ridiculous Gundam Wing and its lore is, and I think you summed it up pretty succinctly. Characters meeting each other before ever meeting each other, intertwined pasts and a whole lot of doing the same shit they would end up doing again later is lazy writing.
Actually the manga only implies its Heero, but like Kakarot mentioned they really should have had completely different boy, or even a girl (hello Middie Une!), filling Heero's role perfectly. Since about this time Heero is actually running around with the assassin Odin Lowe being taught by the man and not with any sort of terrorist/rebel group as the manga claims. That is if I got the timeframes correct.

Please cover the Frozen Teardrop light novel. Please please please. 🙇🙇🙇
relena being quiet? what madness is this?
This just doesn't work with the anime at all. This would be like saying in Star Wars that Luke and Leia met on some Tatooine-Alderaan exchange student program when they were 12. While not technically impossible, it's so insanely forced... Like they already had a pre-written template story and just edited in some details to fill a cliche.
Yup its a tallgeese
I found Gundam Wing Episode Zero pretty Meh, and reaching in order to get some canon in... for all of the stories.
My favourite waifu ❤️

Hi
My least favorite character in NMRGW, but I shall watch and comment to offer what support I can to a quality channel. :)
Relena may not be super super likable but she’s no Sakura that’s for sure ..
After watching Gundam SEED
Flay Allster is FAR WORSE than Releena Peacecraft
Relena was frustratingly clueless. Flay was downright manipulative.
@@andrewowens4421 Flay was also clueless, and she changed her mind about coordinators at least 7 times in the show
Relena was super naive with all the pacifism talk, which got annoying. But she's nowhere as bad as the B*tch.
At least Flay Allster felt and acted like a real character unlike Releena Peacecraft.
@@andrewowens4421 Only because she was still in grief for her father's death and seeing him die right in front of her would traumatize her. And because no one was able to help her deal with her pain, this would most likely lead her to commit actions that would lead to her down a dark path.
Shes on the spectrum
Ah, best girl in all of Gundam
Hmm.. she is one of the best, but I think someone like Atra from IBO is far better in my opinion.
I suspect that Relena is Mumei, she always forgor
