The look that Lindsey gives her at the end of the song just slays me. Don't know if you knew they were a long time on again and off again couple but I think there is still a bond there that can't be broken.
Stevie Nicks has always been my favorite singer/songwriter. Glad you're looking forward to events with your precious daughters. I tell all new parents, please do everything you can to give them loving childhood memories to return to when they are adults. It is so important. I also tell them not to get their children involved in sports teams or other school projects that will take time away from home and family until they are in middle school. Until middle school bond as a family, take them on short day trips to places close to home, on picnics, visit historical parks, go bike riding together. They will never forget those days with you that brought them so much joy.
Great, beautiful song. I suggest reacting to the long version of Rhiannon on Midnight Special in 76. It shows her rock side. She was on 🔥 Fire. Still performing, started again. Keep up the good work!!
That reunion concert was the first time that ex-couple Stevie & Lindsey (the guitarist) shared a stage doing this song together in many years and there are some really touching & heavy moments during that performance where you can just see them thinking of their past together and being thankful to be able to share the stage with FMac once again.
I heard that Stevie Nicks wrote 'Landslide' during an uncertain time (before she joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974) when she and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham were broke and struggling to make a career in music... Instead, she was cleaning houses to earn some income, while Buckingham was out touring as a hired guitarist... She wasn't sure if this was the life she wanted, but decided to persist w/ her dream of becoming a singer. As it turned out afterwards, Lindsey Buckingham came home one day and told her he had an offer to join Fleetwood Mac... he told them he would consider the offer if Stevie would also come along. They met w/ the band and Stevie said she was firm - she and Lindsey would accept the offer to join Fleetwood Mac. It made little sense at the time, cos the band was not prominent at the time, but had a catalog of good music... Mick Fleetwood (drums) recalled bringing a tape of the new songs to someone at their record label in 1975, and told them that he was hearing something truly special. 'Landslide' was recorded for the 1975 self-titled album, and became a huge song for Fleetwood Mac, along w/ 'Rhiannon' and Christine McVie's 'Say you love me'...that album sold 7 million copies in the US and made Fleetwood Mac major stars, even before 'Rumours' was released in 1977. 'Landslide' has been covered by a number of major artists, including the Dixie Chicks, the Smashing Pumpkins...
At 70+ years of age, Stevie Nicks recently said that she got everything she had wanted in life... may not have had kids or a husband, but she got loves of her life and was blessed w/ creating a legacy of music that still resonates w/ people today, and wealth that has kept her comfortable... a career that she is so proud of, both in Fleetwood Mac and as a solo singer.
amazing song. she wrote this very young. the play along guitarist and her had just broken up and yet still played in the same band...its amazing they were still able to compliment each other playing this song going through all the relationship stuff..many nites at many concerts..
there is so much history between all of the members of this band. they are individually very talented. I've been privileged to see them live many times. never have I been disappointed.
It’s sweet to see you guys try and hide your obvious emotions from one another at the end of the song. That’s why this song is here. It’s a hard song to hear on purpose, but it also makes you think deep. As a man talking to a younger man, don’t be afraid to show your emotions sometimes. It’s perfectly natural. There nothing wrong with showing your emotions if you feel it. The people you’re afraid of showing it to don’t matter if their going to judge you like that. Sit their ass down and record them reacting to this song and see how they do. It’ll be the same thing. Be yourself! Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. Be 100% naturally, authentically you, if you’re smiling or shedding a tear. Be yourself and be bold! Keep up the channel you guys! You guys are killing it!
In the original studio version, there’s a keyboard section where Lindsey plays guitars. They just give him the part instead and he plays the exact notes the keyboard plays in that section. Definitely purposely put there! Great reaction, Fleetwood Mac is the best band ever. Periodt.
Don’t think the song was written for her dad so much as she dedicated this particular live performance to him. The same guitar break appears on the studio version.
This song always makes me reflect on my younger years of being newly married and then kids… how time keeps moving forward for all of us. Didn’t think about it much when we were young, but we were building a life around each other and our kids, trying to raise good humans and set them up for success. Soon they’ll start their own families and the circle continues!
Just remember, somebody dedicating a song live to a person is not the same thing as the song being written about that person. It just means they're dedicating that particular performance. I once dedicated a song about being killed to two of my friends who happened to be in the audience and liked the song. ;-)
Mark have you heard her solo hits I Can't Wait from 1985? Boy talk about her rock side!!!! Or Stand Back from 1983? Love Stevie Nicks. Voice is so versatile.
Good reaction. Powerful lyrics that apply to everyone when we go thru hard times. I really like the song “world turning” by fleetwood mac.. makes me want to drive fast for some reason
That live version is stellar. I THINK that's from 1997's "The Dance"? But if you want to catch Stevie at her storybook-best vocals, may I suggest studio versions if doing 70s pieces.
Request for a song...please take a listen to the band Live, the song Lightning Crashes... it's sad yet so beautiful. The video of it makes it hit more deep. The lead singers voice is really amazing, very unique
She wrote it about the guitarist standing next to her...in the 1970s they were a couple and struggling while trying to make it in music...she wrote it before Fleetwood Mac band called them to join which they then became instant stars...the addition of these two catapulted Fleetwood Mac from a good band to a legendary band. She dedicates this song to someone different every time she sings it live. But it is completely abt Lindsey Buckingham(guitarist) and her questioning their relationship along with them being struggling musicians. Thats why he stopped and stares at her....he is remebering h9w hars they worked to get where they are here...they broke up during the Rumors album...neither really got over each other but they continued to perform together for decades in same band and on same stage. Most of Fleetwood Macs greatest songs are songs they wrote abt eachother. 'Dreams' she wrote about him. 'Go Your Own Way' he wrote about her. And so many more...
Stevie dedicates Landslide to someone new every performance and it was a favorite of her father's who thought it was about him. In her filmed 2004 Live In Boston performance she said - "I did not rehearse this. It comes from my heart and Lindsey didn't know. I'm dedicating this song to Lindsey. He taught me how to use a pick and I wrote this song on the guitar. It was inspired by him and it's about him. " It's about her making a choice about whether she should go back to college or remaining with Lindsey and making music after they were dropped by their record label after their first album - Buckingham Nicks. (Frozen Love, Long Distance Winner, Crying In The Night, Crystal - so many great songs that no one has reacted to.) This song was written for the 2nd Buckingham Nicks album - along with Rhiannon, I'm So Afraid, Monday Morning etc - the four winding up on their first Fleetwood Mac album - after all the LA records execs they saw turned them down telling them they had no singles. Which once again sadly shows branding and having the right support is more important than talent. That FM album was the groups 10th and sold 7x more than FM's previous album and almost as many as all previous FM albums combined. Yet still a drop in the bucket to their follow up Rumours.
The guitarist is the great Lindsey Buckingham who was in a relationship with Stevie (years before). I am sure the song had some variations but the guitar solo is part of it all.
I've seen both Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks solo. She is the Queen of Rock and in her prime she was so beautiful as well. Shes still pretty though!!!
Fleetwood Mac started off as a blues band back in the very early days . The only orig members from the early days is the bass player and the drummer . The drummers name is Mick Fleetwood . The rest came after the blues band broke up.
She wrote this about her and Lindsey on the guitar , they used to be together for many years the album Rumors she and Lindsey wrote songs about their break up
She writes the lyrics too. I think it is about Lindsey. She was very young when she met him, and they were together for a long time. They were separating at the time of this song.
She is referring to her former lover Lindsey Buckingham who is on guitar. They were together and then on and off. They both joined Fleetwood Mac as a team.
Has there ever been another band with 5 completely different musicians coming together in song?? Christine--soft and willowy, Stevie--mystical and witchy, Lindsey--brazen and arrogant, Mick--fun-loving and committed to his bandmates, John--reserved and laid-back.
When she dedicated this song to "Daddy" it was to the drummer Mick Fleetwood, whom the girls in the band called Daddy. He is the founding member and leader of the group. A father figure and romantic interest to Stevie.
Fleetwood Mac is one of those bands from a generation that... just sounded so dang good live. Studio vs Live, there was so little difference it was hardly noticeable. Bands/Artists just got so comfortable with autotune and lipsynch that these days live can be a little sketchy. Glad you're digging the band, they're one of my all-time favorites.
This song is actually not about her dad. Stevie nicks dedicated this to her around the time. This song is actually about the troubled relation ship between her and the dude on the gutair (lindsey buckingham).
grandad''s last laugh is when is when lil timmy or sally comes home from school and calls mom an "oppressor"- welcome to your own child at best resenting and more likely hating you for the rest of your life

Stevie and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham had a loving relationship for awhile.I think this song is about their breakup.Just my opinion tho.Have a great day
lots of juicy sex, drugs and rock and roll stories with Fleetwood Mac! The song was not written for her dad, but for Nick Fleetwood whom she had a brief affair. A long affair with the Lindsey Buckinham, the guitar player. This album is considered one of the best ever.
"I've been afraid of changin', 'cause I built my life around you."
So simple and so beautiful. One of the best lines in music history.
The look that Lindsey gives her at the end of the song just slays me. Don't know if you knew they were a long time on again and off again couple but I think there is still a bond there that can't be broken.
Agreed, it is obvious that there is still something that binds them.
@@daveloboda1769 you can't create beauty like this and not somehow be intertwined spiritually for life.
She wrote the song about him and their relationship. And wrote he(Lindsey Buckingham) wrote ‘’Go Your Own Way’’ about his and her ugly breakup.
Silver Springs of the same tour ( The Dance) is amazing.

Stevies voice is something never any doubt and to blend it with Lindsays guitar, well this is what I live for.

Not for her dad but the actual man playing the guitar Lindsay Buckingham
You are right and also women should stop doing that it's freaking weird.

Another one of my favorite bands this is a beautiful song 🙋🏻♀️
All right. This is my high school crush 95-96. This was our song. We used to listen to this on the lake. Carry on.
Don’t think the song was written for her dad so much as she dedicated this particular live performance to him. The same guitar break appears on the studio version.
Check that out very interesting read! The origins of landslide.

Silver Springs live from the Chain tour.... Similarly beautiful and haunting song by Fleetwood Mac

Yep, her dad's favorite song of hers!
One of the best renditions they did. \m/
Stevie Nicks wrote this song at 19. Amazing.

All Fleetwood Mac music 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You should review Silver Springs live by Fleetwood Mac. You two are awesome! Keep’em coming!❤️
Tusk, Sara, and Gypsy are good songs
Yes!!! 👏🏻👏🏻
One of the best songs ever written and sung!
Had that on 8- track tape when was a teen, still the greatest album all these years later
The album you showed, Rumours, has me and my wife's wedding song on it. The song "Songbird" was written by Christine McVie.
good morning! she does have an amazing voice! thank you for making my morning!
Crystal , from the same album is almost a continuation of the realization that clarity comes in many forms
Her voice is one of my absolute favorites, Top 3 easy 🎶🎵❤️🔥 No one else like her
The live version of Rhiannon on the midnight special is a great watch the next time you want to check them out.

I love this song. But for some reason I don’t care for the live version as much as the studio version. But I’ll listen to her sing anything. 💕
The art you have on the screenshot is of the Fleetwood Mac tribute band "Landslide"
This song was written about Lindsey but this song was her dad’s favorite song
🖤 Queen Stevie 🖤
I grew up with a dad who played acoustic guitar and he would play and I sang this song.

Stevie wrote it as a guitar solo.

When she dedicated this song to "Daddy" it was to the drummer Mick Fleetwood, whom the girls in the band called Daddy.
He is the founding member and leader of the group.
A father figure and romantic interest to Stevie.
I don't remember her being with Mick, just Lindsey.
She was with Mick for a little while after Linsey.
Another great live is Gladys Knight "The Way We Were" live version (1974)

Stevie and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham had a loving relationship for awhile.I think this song is about their breakup.Just my opinion tho.Have a great day
You're right I read that she did dedicate this song to him, her dad, and later Kid Rock who was her good friend
Yes, it was her break up song to him.
Also listen to Greatest Hits of Fleetwood Mac and please react to video with the Drum fanfare- Tusk
