      kunolacarai, you are righ! My excessively cute Pomchi hates it to be petted by strangers and she makes it perfectly clear that she doesn't want any attention! I always tell everybody to simply ignore her completely, and she will be absolutely fine and cause no problems whatsoever. The huge problem with small cute dogs is, that a lot people don't take "no" for an answer, and they try again and again to communicate with my dog - and she gets angrier and angrier! I try to nip this unacceptable behavior in the bud. This is a case of humans behaving badly - not the dog!

      @tookitogo 10 месяцев назад +7

      My mom adopted a senior papillon a year and a half ago. She’s adorable, and just like your Gracelynn, very smart and eager to please. I think that because of their appearance, people underestimate just how smart papillons are. She learns things really, really fast. Of course, it helps that her previous owner (a senior human who passed away) must have treated, trained, and socialized her well, because from day one she’s been a confident, well behaved dog.
      My mom got the dog about a year after becoming a widow, and it’s been fantastic that the daily walks have not only gotten my mom to be significantly more physically active, but also that because the dog is an absolute people magnet, mom is interacting with people in the village far, far more, and loving it. It delights me that she now routinely bumps into people she’s met on walks and ends up having half hour conversations out and about.
      P.S. I know _exactly_ how you feel about missing a good dog after they’re gone. My last dog, a lab mix, was the best doggo one could possibly have hoped for. It’s been 15 years and I still miss him.

    Absolutely love the whole concept of this show coz she is not just a dog trainer who trains dogs, she really goes into their house, hears their concern - from a baby to a 90 yr grandma, even the neighbours - she hears everyone out equally, observes the family and even their work place and all the consequences and damage the dogs have done and then sits them down and tells them her honest opinion and if they are willing to work with her she goes to the ends of the earth to find them experts in their field to help the dogs or the family in the right way and its different for different people. Absolutely in love with the way Victoria works

I work early daily and even I get up earlier and take my dog out to potty first in the yard and then we got for a nice bike/run for 2 miles one way and 2 miles back so she's relaxed and calm through the day. We go for a walk the moment I get home at 5:30pm and we talk until no less than 6:15pm sometimes almost 7 if she really wants to walk. It's sooo important to let them drain that energy.

    • @sabineb.5616
      @sabineb.5616 Год назад +3

      Briemorrison, smaller dogs cannot drag their walkers around in the same way as larger dogs. But if they are unruly two or more small dogs can still cause a lot of trouble and disruptions! And that isn't enjoyable - neither for those who walk the dogs nor for the dogs themselves. And often it's much better to walk one dog at a time. I have one smal dog, but I often help friends and walk with their dogs if necessary. But if I need to have both dogs on a leash, I never enjoy these walks as much as just walking just with my own dog.

    • @briemorrison6610
      @briemorrison6610 Год назад +4

      @@sabineb.5616 its not always about your enjoyment it's also about the dogs needing to get out as well... This girl said she gave up walking them... Then she shouldn't have dogs. My 2 big dogs took time to train. They dragged me and it wasn't always pleasant but I did the work and trained them for their own good. I never once (as a mother of toddlers too!!!) Said "well i guess I just wont walk them" that's selfish. I can do it with two big ones and 2 toddlers in tow. She can walk her tiny dogs xD. I just dont take excuses. Unless shes medically incapacitated then id be understanding.

    • @sabineb.5616
      @sabineb.5616 Год назад +4

      @@briemorrison6610 , I agree with most of what you said. It's indeed negligent to have two dogs without training them well. Both of them need a certain amount of exercise! But Fleetwood seemed to enjoy himself so much more when he was walking alone with his owner. I know many owners of more than one dog who at least occasionally just walk with one dog at a time. Of course this is only possible if there are several people who can walk the dogs. If that isn't possible the dogs need to learn to get along when they are taken out. This takes some time.
      Sunny seemed to be the far more problematic dog, and Fleetwood was simply egged on by her when they were out for a walk together. I would really like to know how thing developed in the long run in this household.

      A lot of people in the US do fence their properties, I’m not sure why these guys don’t! Even if you don’t fully fence your property you can teach your dog to stay in bounds! Maybe because they were already left alone for 10 hours a day and destroyed the house when left on their own? Either they come with or owners don't go. Although I'm sure some of them could have gone anyways and left one or two family members home to dogsit.
      Some of these families are way too helpless in many other ways too. This family for example had baby gates everywhere, yet couldn't think to put Fleetwood behind a gate before opening the door. And they hadn't walked the dogs for months because they apparently couldn't control them! I can understand how they couldn't control the barking without help, but with such small dogs you can at least physically keep them away from others easily enough, so it's a bad excuse to not walk them. With some big and strong dogs it may be a serious problem that requires a break from walks until they learn some basic skills at home first, but not with Papillons.

He pants, walks around the house, tries to go on the sofa(not allowed) and in the hallway, and sometimes claws at things like the kitchen cabinets, and if we tie him up, he purposely tries to go to the end and chokes a bit and he pushes things with his paw(making enormous noise) to get our attention...I try to keep him company, but I just cant do that all night.
