is this IT course more inclined for those wo need to work on-site or remote? If remote do I need to be living in the US since I am outside the US, thank you
You're doing awesome things man, I'm at the last lab section of the course now. The information I've learned has been beyond valuable. Can't wait to hit you up for an interview once in hired! Cheers man, been following you for about 2 years and you've helped me learn and elevate myself so much. See ya soon!
This is a good vid. I am currently a regional Director of Security/surveillance Operations. I have worked with our IT with resolving tickets, analytics & other things. I have fallen in love with the IT side. I already have a bachelor degree in business. I haven't really used it in the Security industry yet. Maybe it'll help me in the IT world. But I have been doing extensive research on how I should get started in CS. There are far too many options.
Love your content, Josh! It has definitely helped me out so much. I am wondering - do you think you ever might release courses that are more "advanced"? For example, like maybe for someone who already took your first course and successfully broke into IT, and now they want to advance even further and go into something like cyber or cloud?
Thanks so much! Glad to hear that :). It's hilarious that you asked that, because I'm actually building a cyber/cloud course right now. It's both in one, so if you want to work in Cybersecurity our Cloud support engineering :)
Thanks so much Josh, for all the information 🙏 I love your stuff you share. I've shared your videos with so many people. Hopefully, my 18 year old daughter is going to start your course for information technology as soon as possible. Thanks be bless!
Thank you for interview. Follow you for while. That awesome you doing IT course. Just move to Cali looking for any job then I buy do your course. Still get A plus too.
Hey Josh! Awesome vids Question about the IT course, When purchasing the course can we expect new modules/labs to be added in.. as in updating the course after it’s purchased? Excited to purchase the course soon and get started.
Hey other Josh, haha. Yeah, I will be patching the course more in the future. I already patched it a few times. I plan to add some more stuff, but right now I'm building another course for Cybersecurity, so I'll probably start patching the IT course more after that. It's gonna be a while though
Always love to hear testimonials. Josh, have you had an opportunity to look at the new WGU BSSWE program? I'm curious to know your take on it. I understand that when compared to the gold standard, computer science, software engineering may be more application opposed to theory. I am however looking forward to seeing your analysis on the curriculum. Great videos all around 😁😁🌴🌴
Awesome I’m definitely going to buy the course and start today! Also could you help me out on how to start preparing for the AZ-900? Like which courses to use?
Hey Mabbert! Really appreciate that. I actually just recorded a short answering one of your questions, haha. I know there are some pretty decent free AZ-900 courses on RUclips so I might start there. Check this out! ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=az-900+course+playlist I heard John Savill's is good, but there are a bunch :)
Hi josh, I just finished watching the video I’m very interested and very excited so I followed the link but I’m from and I live Nigeria. Will the living in US or UK mean that I’m not qualified?
That's a great question! Traditional certifications (CompTIA, Google IT Support, etc.) tend to be very broad and theoretical with a lack of depth and practical application (though Google is much better than CompTIA in this regard). Whereas the CourseCareers IT Course is intentionally more narrow but goes relatively deep into the topics. Most topics covered in the lecture portion have a practical component in the labs section that will result in you gaining usable skills and a better understanding of the technology. In addition to this (and MOST importantly), a large chunk of the CourseCareers curriculum is geared toward telling you what you need to do to get a job as fast as possible. If you follow the curriculum, you the time it takes you to find a job will be limited by your own preferences. In the "find a job" section, we cover: resume, portfolio, social network presence, interview deep dive, and application methods and frequency with an explanation of probability. Google IT support cert is actually quite good from a technical standpoint and has more breadth than CourseCareers, but CC goes more in depth with widely-used tech (hands-on) and actually guides you into finding a job. The Google IT Support cert would be a great compliment to CourseCareers as it will provide extra info here and there. Hope this helps!
@@JoshMadakor what's your opinion on the google data analytics cert for finding a job? I'm currently doing it while pregaming for wgu. Seems decent but the sql stuff could be a bit deeper
Hey Josh, do you still work and create content or are you full time content creator now? Your channel is growing so fast I am wondering how you find the balance to both
Hey! thanks so much for commenting haha. I work Full time and I'm a creator/instructor full time as well. I have 2 people who help me with everything on the back end. They can both edit and one of them does other business-like stuff. I'm super busy for sure, but I try to offload as much stuff as I can :)
I know you get paid from coursecareers but is there any way you could cover the Google data analyst cert? I'm doing that while pregaming for wgu and am curious if I could get a job with just that. Originally I thought it would be tough until I had the degree but maybe I can work while in school 🤔
Dude I don't know if youll ever see this comment but here goes anyway: I am an 8 year vet school teacher who is desperately trying to get into the cyber security field or just IT in general. I would love to land a job in about 4 months and I am currently studying to get the Comptia Security + certification. The only experience I have is what I have done with my students over the years and thats pretty much it. I'm ready to move on from teaching but I need some real help to land something at least by June. I dont have the money for a bootcamp but any other help is much appreciated. I hope you see this, I'm really starting to get discouraged. Thanks for your help if you see this, I love your content, it gives me hope

So WGU changed their IT Management degree to a Business Administration + IT Management program. Can you touch on that when you get a chance. Obviously that makes it more difficult. So is that still considered the easiest degree to get with WGU? I just need any Degree for a job opportunity so I’m looking for the quickest route
Hey Josh I am really demotivated And depressed i came to Berlin on student visa last year and i have completed my masters in Information security and i hv total 5 years and 8 months of experience doing network level penetration testing. But No recruiter is hiring me here in Germany i must hv applied to more than 300 jobs since August 2023. Its very difficult to survive on part time jobs here should i consider moving back to Mumbai India where i was earning decent salary or should I keep trying here.
It's hard to answer, but it depends on where you live, what kinda job you're going for, how long you want to wait to get hired. I've had ppl graduate and get jobs anywhere from 35k to 90k, both remote and otherwise. If you want to work and get experience ASAP, generally your salary will be lower since you didn't take the time to get something higher paying, but it's not a bad thing because you can get experience faster. It just depends ;)
Come on man . Is coursecareers paying you to make this up?? U don't need the money josh why u falling this low? There's no way in hell he got a it job in 4 weeks let a lone REMOTE with all these well versed, experienced and talented laid off ppl flooding the market, I'm sorry, but there's no way..

Hey! You can sign up from the course from anywhere! Whether or not the course is effective outside of the US is something I think about a lot...how job hunting goes in other countries. In the US, you aren't required to have a degree for ANY of tech really, much less entry IT. If it's the same in the UK etc, the course will help a lot. It focuses on 12 "pillars" or areas you need to elevate for you to land a job as fast as possible and focuses on learning a lot of "mainstream" tech that you can find at most entry-level IT jobs (Ticketing Systems, Active Directory, General Networking, VPNs, Cloud (Azure), File Permissions, etc.) Hope this helps! and thanks again!
