Thanks DTL now I have a new way to make breakfast burritos! And heres a Public Service Announcement: that space blanket (#2) is the best way to prevent morning tent bake. Place on East side the night before and your tent stays cool until you choose to get up.
If you have aptera you have power. If you don't have an inverter you can get 12V stuff like electric blankets. Also 12V rice cookers are useful - you can cook other stuff in them and also use them to boil water (slowly) - Some are insulated. There are also 12V kettles. For more serious mod-cons - an inverted and induction stove.
@@garywozniak7742 Aptera was planning on having a 650W AC outlet but plans changed. When asked about it Chris.A (I think) said they would make the 12V battery terminals easily accessible for people to add their own inverters Etc. He said the DC/DC converter charging the 12V battery was rated at 1500W. I usually run my home induction plate at 10% to 20% power - 200 to 400W. Its true that you won't be able to pull a lot of power from the the 12V socket.
I’m right there with you, the Aptera’s going to be the perfect road trip car for me. And as an Accelerator, I’ll be getting one of the first ones - Woo hoo!! 🎉 😃😎
I have often camped in Death Valley (and many other places) on a motorcycle. Aptera will seem like luxury in comparison. I plan to drive to Death Valley to try out camping there immediately after picking ours up from the factory, before we head our meandering way back to Iowa.
@@dtl Exactly! And there will be places in the park we can reach that we didn't have the range for on a gas powered bike, even with limited off road capability.
@@carolemonroe4400 Thanks, Carole! I just completed my cataract surgery on Friday, and it is amazing having 20/20 vision again. I also am fighting prostrate cancer, which is slowing me down a bit, but as you know, that is not generally too serious in men my age. I am very fortunate!
Nice info, Chad. Good collection of stuff for camping that would be useful with or without the Aptera. One issue with a lot of this stuff (including the Aptera) is that you do have to "find the sun". We like to camp in the woods, so sunlight is a moving target as the sun moves across the sky. We also like to camp on the Oregon Coast where sunny days (trees or not) can be a precious commodity.
I'm all for camping but I think the definition varies. I take a backpack and do 3-5 day backpack trips that are normally 20-40 miles. For those car camping i still think the cargo space can be used perfectly fine so I really dont see the appeal of the camp kit.
Thanks Chad. Sounds like you plan to “ move on up to GLAMPing “ between Aptera and these complements! I’d use that tarp and a cargo over too in Aptera’s large cargo area!. I’ve had a small battery charger like that for years and used it many times. Saved my wife who is constantly e-reading😉. Hey Chad, if you provided an affiliate link to a rain powered oven I would certainly buy it right now! 🌧🌧🌧😭 😂 However, I most likely also will sometimes use my Aptera as a tent or hotel room.
Great video, Chad, although its a little easier on the eyes when Sarah is there. (Do you have her out mowing the lawn again?) I love GoSun, and really want one of their entire solar kitchen set ups. Maybe when Aptera IPO's and my Aptera shares quadruple....
She was about to mic up and got a call from a friend in distress. Our schedule is so tight these days I had to go solo. Never as good without "The" Sarah!

Hey I like that idea, I’m going to try that. Thanks! 👍
Camping is fun!
With your own electricity source from an Aptera, you'd be able to go nearly anywhere.

We can learn!

As far as I am aware of, the LE will only have a 12V port rated at 180 watts. You won't be able to run induction plates and refrigerators off of it.

All great products that I'll consider buying for my trip from San Diego to Colorado in 2025!
Pick the Aptera and already geared up!
Thanks for the recommendations Chad. It is fun to think about camping in the Aptera! The solar cooker sounds like a bargain for off-grid hot meals.
It is fun to think ahead. Helps us stay positive. thank you Dean!
In the 1970’s I made a folding solar oven in shop class and used it to boil water.
