В якійсь мірі щасливі люди, яких в далекій чужині минули страхіття другої світової
Молодці що вберегли свою ідентичність і коріння .
So beautiful to see these old customs in color!
The first settlers of 1890 was very difficult and harsh strange country and strange language but they managed and 120 years later 1.2 million Canadian Ukrainians are now flourishing good film .
Супер! Нехай Бог береже всіх українців у всьому світі і тих хто їм допомагає!
This is a real gem, thank you for sharing!
No hablo el idioma 😯. Pero me encanta ver sus vídeos. Gracias por compartir su cultura 😆😀👍
BEAUTIFUL!
These are the luckiest Ukrainians ever
It was a hard life. My grandmother pregnant for 20 years, tended a farm by herself while my grandfather drank and beat the kids. Not lucky at all.
It's your own life experience
Really?😸💛💙
дякуємо!!!
We arrived in Canada in 1957, and lived in a small Ukrainian community in Montréal; excepted for the farms, this was still pretty much the way Ukrainian Christmas was celebrated, especially the home-made costumes of the Vertep koliadnyky, well into the late 1970s.
My parents never followed any Ukrainian traditions (besides having perogies, holopchi and pyryshky!) and I never did either. Now I wish I did with my kids!
Honestly, it's never too late to start with something small. My family doesn't do most of these, but we've always had that spoonful of kutia (without throwing) and at least listened to Boh Predvichny. We have our traditional meal at my parents' house on Christmas Eve, then Christmas Day has the Canadian meal wherever we are (example: my brother goes to his in-laws).
Дуже зворушливий фільм - чудово, що ці святкові миті збереглись на плівці!
This was surprisingly good, quite cosy and festive seeing all those old time foreign traditions, nice short x
