Sam Girling, the Bedford-born DJ/Producer is having a mammoth year. He kicked off 2024 by closing out an infamous night at London’s FOLD at the behest of label head Young Marco, a result of pitching an unreleased track to his BBC Essential Mix featuring exclusively up and coming artists.
Girling has shown all his prowess on 'Do You Know Where The DJ's Are Hanging', delivering a quartet of cuts rooted in peak-time dance floors that ripple with kaleidoscopic aural colours. The nostalgic title track, which has been popping up in sets of disc jocks for months, is particularly potent, with waves of euphoric synth sounds, nostalgic synthesiser organ sounds, sparkling pianos and eyes-closed vocal snippets rising above a chunky, retro-futurist house groove.
