if you want to start with annoying comparisons, you can, but one could also point out that Carnatic music, even compared to Hindusthani, could use a bit of decorum and visual aesthetics,. for one thing, you will never see gaudy hoardings for National Battery Works and Triplicaine Tech Pool or whatever behind the artists....And you won't hear people talking and coming and going and texting and checking internet during concerts....worst are the dreadful sound systems that soften distort the vocals and create "electric" violin. so often the sound systems are so unneeded; this is chamber music and when it a small space, as in San Diego, its only some bizaree obsession with tech that leads to sound systems that they keep adjusting throughout the first piece or two. why not do sound test aforehand?
and it would only be an ignorance of biology to think western classical musicians dont sweat. just watch some videos, guy.
