Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song, “Judgement Day” on December 22. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. One thing about these Japanese female artists, most notably Lovebites, Nemophila, Band Maid, and Gacharic Spin, is they can take an incredibly complex song and make it look easy, that takes so much skill and talent.

They're even better now. They have a new bass player Fami that is amazing. Her bass cover of Alien Alien is godlike. I'm a big fan of Hatsune Miku (who sings Alien Alien) so that works too. Babymetal is technically all female because the backing band are session musicians. Babymetal is the Idol Group in the front. Babymetal performed in the beginning without a band. So it's not a lie but it's not the way I would describe them. Also Megitsune was a music video so the people in the video weren't even their backing band. They were dancers. Babymetal has Official Live videos if you want to see what they are really like. It's weird to me that people expect to see real things in a music video. Every music video is fake. The little boy in Enter Sandman was not a member of Metallica.
If you do Japan bands you need to do trinity: Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophilia. But there's many more fantastic bands! Band-Maid is the top for me though.

🐺Miho has been playing the piano since the age of 5. She started playing the bass guitar at school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play. It's a mix of power metal and "old school" heavy metal (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal). Miho brought these talented ladies together in LOVEBITES.
🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, she also plays keyboards. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN ( Osaka ) , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN is an International Music Institute , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote 50% of the music.
* In terms of teamwork , synchronization / harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
🐺Fami is 20 years old, plays bass, keyboards, guitar, writes songs, sings. She has already released her solo album, which she dedicated to graduating from school. Despite his youth, Fami has experience of collaboration with famous musicians..
All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺

They're even better now. They have a new bass player Fami that is amazing. Her bass cover of Alien Alien is godlike. I'm a big fan of Hatsune Miku (who sings Alien Alien) so that works too.
Babymetal is technically all female because the backing band are session musicians. Babymetal is the Idol Group in the front. Babymetal performed in the beginning without a band. So it's not a lie but it's not the way I would describe them. Also Megitsune was a music video so the people in the video weren't even their backing band. They were dancers. Babymetal has Official Live videos if you want to see what they are really like. It's weird to me that people expect to see real things in a music video. Every music video is fake. The little boy in Enter Sandman was not a member of Metallica.
If you do Japan bands you need to do trinity: Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophilia. But there's many more fantastic bands! Band-Maid is the top for me though.
