+K.W.-Riders i ride my BMX pretty much anyway street, dirt, pump tracks and the best suspension is legs and arms. Plus is a great way to build upper body strength
+K.W.-Riders defiantly agree. suspension helps but can make you lazy. i do downhill on a hardtail so i still get a bit smother ride but yea feel them hits on your legs after a while

Sure, you can ride stuff on a cross bike, but you won't go as fast or have near as much fun as you will with suspension. Welshboy, I do like busting out the hard tail now and again, but even just the front suspension makes a huge difference in control through technical stretches
Everyone seems to forget that when mountain biking first originated, there was no suspension on the bikes! Just light aluminum frames, with some knobbier tires and slightly wider handlebars. The rider was the suspension. Obviously when people wanted to go faster, suspension came into the picture, but mountain biking at its core use to be maneuvering a light bike with a completely suspension-less frame around on small tight and technical trails. Took a lot of skill and strength to maintain control of the bike. With that said, I couldn't imagine mountain biking with a cross bike like this guy did on those downhill trails lol.
I liked the idea applied in this video,the fact of someone having had some balls to come down the A-line and Dirt Merchant on a road/cross bike,it sure was very interesting and fun to watch for me as I couldn't help watching it multiple times,it made me feel like having a video of me trying to do just the same thing! Respect to Yoann Barelli,from a Portuguese downhiller emigrant in Holland.
