That the snow isn't melting demonstrates how well the Husky's triple-layer coat insulates their body heat. This is what some hysterics don't understand when they see things like this and freak out, calling 911 about "animal abuse". Some breeds are specifically adapted for colder climates and, to them, "abuse" is making them sit outside during hot summer days.
@@theultimatetrashman887 - Well, factors like their coat color come into play. For example, in theory a human winter coat should keep out heat, right? Except that our bodies are also generating heat in addition to what is in our environment.
I'll fight anyone who calls this abuse. I wouldn't have a Husky where I live, and I live in Alberta, Canada. The real cruelty comes from the people who have Huskies in California and Nevada. They're built for the freezing cold, what kind of sadistic, asshole does someone have to be to do that?!?

If I had a husky and it was snowing out, I'd let him have that obvious luxury and feel delighted for him - snow for huskies is like Christmas for children. It feels wrong to deny them that pleasure.
My dog is a akbash/great pyranease mix. He actually hates the summer bcuz it’s too fucking hot. He likes it when there’s 2 feet of snow and it is at least -20C outside. Even as a 10 month old pup when he seen his 1st full winter he was jumping for joy when he got to lay out in the yard in the snow when it was -30C or colder. -40C didn’t even faze him. In the summer he barely ever comes out during the day. He spends most of his days in summer in a hole he dug underneath the veranda.
They are perfectly fine living in Texas. Huskies do not have any more fur than the American Grey Wolf (actually, they probably have less) which historically roamed the majority of Texas including west texas. The only reason the grey wolf does not still roam all of Texas is due to human interference. Their coat protects them from the sun as well. Huskies are well known to be good at adapting to most climates. A climate that is too hot for a husky is basically to hot for any other dog as well.
Yeah, that’s my dogs too. They are samoyeds. We got first snow storm 3 days ago, they stayed outside the whole day, came in only for a short snack time. They were so happy to be in the snow again. For anyone who been to the north pole, a husky is an animal that loves the cold. When I went 6 years ago they slept outside in - 42 degrees Celsius so this is nothing.
We used to raise Sibes. On the coldest day they would be curled up, nose tucked and covered in snow. They loved it. If we brought them in the house, it would be maybe 10 minutes and they were panting at the door. So, don't anyone comment on how horrible these people are for leaving the dog out in the snow. These dogs are made for snow! Give them a load to pull through it and they'll be chomping at the bit for a good heavy run.

Mine used to do this. Just lay outside in a pile of snow. I had him for 14 years and he took a big piece of my heart when he left. Soulful, sweet dogs.
To be fair though dogs hair works both ways, in cold and heat, so its not like its gonna be super horrible atleast right?
@@theultimatetrashman887 - Well, factors like their coat color come into play. For example, in theory a human winter coat should keep out heat, right? Except that our bodies are also generating heat in addition to what is in our environment.
I'll fight anyone who calls this abuse. I wouldn't have a Husky where I live, and I live in Alberta, Canada. The real cruelty comes from the people who have Huskies in California and Nevada. They're built for the freezing cold, what kind of sadistic, asshole does someone have to be to do that?!?
Yes I have heard of neighbors calling police for husky owners leaving them out in the snow to sleep. Just like this video, they do not want to come back in.
Yes. Or making them stay in, when it's snowing outside!

Yes! It’s like some people want cutesy small dogs when they have kids but not all small dogs like or do well with kids.

Well good on ya for that mate. See to many people with huskys in hot climates.
