I love that Kroll was legitimately concerned he'd killed a legend there for a second.
I can't wait to hear him discuss this somewhere!
and mulaney slowly edging forward like "oh shit oh shit oh shit"
According to his grandson: he survived Polio, Life threatening surgery and Parkinsons, so it would be sad for him to be done in by a couple of idiots(love them both) dressed as old men
M-line “a couple of idiots” is my favourite way to affectionately refer to the dorks that are Nick and John.
"Oh shit, I killed Alan Alda!"
"on stage, the way i wanted to go!"
john and nick: *nervous laughter*
wiki told me these two characters came about when Kroll and Mulaney were watching two men in turtlenecks buy the same Alan Alda book in a bookstore. full circle.
I was at that show! The best part was that after Alda left Nick said "It would have been great publicity for the show if he had actually died!" lol
LUCKY!!!!!!
holy f**k can you imagine alan alda dying onstage during "Oh, Hello" from choking on tuna?
yes. it would have looked like that
Tommy Cooper died on stage during a live TV broadcast, and everyone kept laughing because the man was so fucking funny and thought he was doing a bit
@sam21skin i laughed my ass off at this comment... 10/10
Now THAT would be too much tuna
@@GeebleTron now this is an underrated comment.
Was anyone else half expecting Bill Hader to show up instead of it actually being Alan Alda?
I love Kroll's moment of panic, like "oh shit, we killed Alan Alda!"
John is so quick and smart. I love it.
When Nick, out of character, has to ask him "are you ok?" 5:04, you see real worry and genuine care suddenly come from the hideous, grabby, lecherous Gil Faizon. A very nice little moment.
I like how John didn't seem to really care much either way
I just watched the one with Seth Rogan. He goes out of character when Seth Rogan starts discussing jewish plays he put on at summer camp.
It's a really nice moment but I also got really worried for a second lol
This is possibly the dearest five+ minutes on RUclips, even sweeter than a basket of kittens. The three of them were in complete sync with each other. Alda has real improvisational chops. Thank you for posting.
I'm young and I don't recall ever seeing any of Alan Alda's work; so I don't know his impact but this video brought one of the biggest smiles to my face. Pure humour and I could listen to these three speak for hours.
Watch mash it'll change your life
MASH is his famous work, a tv show set during the Korean War which he stars in. Very anti-war its themes, and absolutely hilarious! He won 6 Emmy's between directing, writing, and acting for the show!
Please do yourself a favor and watch MASH! You won’t regret it!
Alphonso D'Abruzzo is a cool name
Super love that Nick’s Gil voice is literally just Coach Steve
John mulaney wasn't been george anymore, he was just being himself
I'm pretty sure they were both too geeked out to stay in character.
"Well, we're trying to go to Mars soon."
"Yeah, do you think we can make it?"
"No!"
This is magic. I love the Alda so much. The world is a better place with him in it.
God damn, Alda is still the best. Great scenes!
Alan Alda, just being himself, belongs in this bit.
OMG lifelong Alan Alda fan here...I absolutely love him
Alan Alda is a treasure.
Nick was genuinely concerned and it was adorable as fuck.
I love Steve Martin, but I feel like Alan Alda should’ve been the guest in the Netflix recording
what a lovely man ..
How am I barely seeing this.......would've love to seen this live Kroll Show was soooo underrated.
precious I love it ,,Nick Kroll looked so worried for a minute.... best joke Ever!
"That's just God with a urinary tract infection" 😂
Lol Alan Alda is hysterical here!
At this point, Alda is a legit alter kaker; no wonder if he's a natural at this.
Mulaney's outfit is so perfect.
god i love him!!! alan alda is a national treasure!
OMG I LOVE ALAN HE IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE ACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alan Alda is unstoppable.
That was GREEK water? No whey.
Underrated comment.
Wonderful interview with one of my all-time favorite actors.
Glad PubLIZity successfully marketed yogurt water
Marian Hollander top tier callback
omg you win
holy duck the three people i care about most in this world all around one table
I love Alan Alda sm
he's still got it
Alan Alda. What a legend❤️
Nick broke character and then he was RIGHT back in. :-)
Alda what a king
Alda news that's fit to print!
Alan is a footprint expert.
Alda knew that Fitz toe print.
Alan Alda forever.
Alan Alda doesn't believe in God because he IS God.
This is incredible
We're all gonna die, Spoiler alert! haha
Bring back the Kroll show!
Alan is great !!!😂😂😂❤❤❤
I love these 3 guys so much.
New Jersey. lmfao
Mr. Double A “BeepBeep, Get off my property”
I want Alan Alda to be my grandpa
Love him
just so damn good!!!
Where did that giant tuna sandwich come from? That's too much tuna.
1:36 Ok, that was hillarious
I don't get this one.. Can u help explain it?
Any student of comedy getting a chance to sit for an extensive period with this legend has to be such a treat.
brilliant.
I love the way they try to coax Alan into believing in God. That was so sweet.
This show is really good I would recommend watching the whole thing on Netflix. It has Steve Martin for the celeberty segment though.
Oh, Hello!
It's fitting he has a fancy name.
Too much tuna
I feel weird about my name ending with an A
hahaha! there's just 3 of them
Fuck aging. Alan is still young
Still sharp as a tack.
Soooooo Alan Alda should DEFINITELY have kept his real name instead. It's incredible!
Also making Nick Kroll break character - priceless.
I don't know. Alan Alda is a really great name. Nice alliteration and both names are just 4 letters. It's perfect! (This was written by Stan Lee)
He did keep his real name, at least symbolically. Alda is a portmanteau of his first and last names, ALphonso DAbruzzo. However, I reckon he shouldn't have used the "Al" part twice. Since his middle name is Joseph, he should have gone with the more elegant Alf Joda.
Or for a more comical effect with multiple repeated syllables, Alfalfa Joey-Jojoba Shabadabadoo.
@@xoose that's the worst name I ever heard.
I feel like Nick is genuinely too intrigued into this to stay into the character. He keeps fading in and out of character
charmedi'msure
Double A. Beep beep. Get off my property.
So they get a different guest on everytime and just improvise?? This concept doesn't seem like it would work too well. Gotta hand it to Mulaney, though. He's awesome.
It's a full Broadway show with a interstitial featuring a suprise interview in the middle. The actual show portion is amazing
Tara. Improv is the best form of comedy
Audrey Palumbo I agree. I meant that it doesnt seem like it would work, at least not to me, but it does. It's hilarious.
Tara. Improv wouldn't work for me as a performer, but as an Audience member I wouldn't mind. I know some people think Improv is going to be boring & Messy but Comedians have such quick & Witty responses is Unreal.
they have had so many famous funny Guests but Can't find Video. imo, is the best part, but hey it's ur POV.
If you are good at improve it would be easy enough (takes talent tho)
My wet dream
SPOILER ALERT
This is wonderful. 🩷
