+Abby Cotaco Hahahahaa.. That's funny! If my brother, after days of eating fish, will ask "what's our food for dinner?" I'll sing that! "Good news! Chicken!" LOL
They're not almost exactly the same, they just are the same. Musical notation and the sound of the instruments don't change language to language. These musicians are reading the same music that the musicians in new york read
I think it has to do with keeping in rhythm of how the score was originally written, as well as the fact that the English versions are so well-known, keeping some of the lyrics is totally fine.
@525600minutes1 lol, well, it's sort of like since they weren't influenced by anyone until later, all new words were assimilated into a different alphabet/language called Katakana (cat-ah-kahn-ah). Also, the US is super cool over there so they use our words instead of Japanese just for fun
You'll be glad to hear that there's a film being made of it.... you'll be sad to hear it's not an anime... mostly because there aren't any animes which are musicals around ._.;
there is an anime of Les Miserables?, i heared that musical is good, so what is the anime called? and yes Wicked would be a freaking awesome anime, i'd prefer the story of the musical than the book though.
I'm sure you've found it by now, but you may have been thinking of "Re Mizeaberu: Shoujo Kozetto". It is pretty faithful to the book. I prefer the musical (25th anniversary, specifically) to the book as well.

Abby Cotaco oh my God yeah! Chick-en! 😂
I notice they refer to Glinda as "Sama". They consider her practically divine.
LadyEvilest Well, She is deified quite a bit by the Ozian government and has some talent for sorcery to boot. Not surprising.
I Love Japanese Wicked ^^
It's so cool that you've all the songs!
I would love to hear I'm not that girl and As Long As You're Mine
i would hope so...

Please someone do an anime storyboard of this
OK
@Yinga2750 it gets the point across, if they did it point for point then it would be too long or too short
I don't get it, how come the Japanese get to use the original backig tracks of the English soundtrack but they haven't released thwm
Where

Was listening through for evidence that it's not the same recording (which could have been possible) and here's one: flute comes in early at 1:57 =(

NYBroadwayelphie It's crescendo.
@musicmanaj92 Well, DUH! Same music, different singers, different language.
You'll be glad to hear that there's a film being made of it.... you'll be sad to hear it's not an anime... mostly because there aren't any animes which are musicals around ._.;
the orchestrations sound almost exactly the same
musicmanaj92 it's the same backing track
