Hey Anthony! I checked the DD site, and The release date of Train to Tokyo was June 12, 2024 so it was before they changed their drill field and drills. They started implementing the changes in October around Halloween! I have also put of doing the squares I have from fear of gapping, but from the pictures I’ve seen of the newer kits it looks like a much tighter drill field, and I’m glad you’re going into it with a positive mindset. I definitely want to buy from them again and try the new updated kits!

I want to try a DD round, cause I've heard those are much better all the way around. I am too unconcerned a diamond painter to carefully place anything. If it's not too late, can you let us know if the scented putties are strong or not. It helps for people sharing spaces with allergy sufferers. 😘 Have a cherry merry muffin kinda week.

I am new to diamond painting and watched your kitting up of red gate of hongo. In it you said that you would be scared to have 3 projects kitted up at once. I think perhaps you are over that fear? It was also the video where you announced getting Apollo ❤. I am looking forward to watching some more vlogs that show various areas as i have family who have moved back to Denver from Australia and it is nice to see the areas near where they live.
Wait. You’re doing a Henry Clive event! Yay! I just bought one from JGS! As far as DD goes I keep people posting photos of “no gapping” and I’m wondering if we’re looking at the same photo! Hi Anthony, I recently tried a square drill canvas from Dreamer Designs again, called Christmas Mailbox, which I purchased back in March. At the time, I heard from a couple of creators that the canvas grids were tightened up and the drills were improved. However, I just completed it and like you, I found a lot of gapping. It's most noticeable in the background where there is a lot of color blocking with light colors. I used mica powder, but it's still not great. I do have a round one so I hope I have a better experience with that one. I'm working on one from Oraloa now and it's amazing! I look forward to your putty comparison. I'm a hard presser also and use single and multi-placers so I'm curious to see which one lasts the longest before having to change it out. I'm happy that your date was a success and I wish you the best of luck with him. Keep us posted. 💜
Bummer about the Dreamer Designs gapping. I went and checked and saw that one was released in June so I still have hope for the newer ones I purchased on Cyber Monday. Conversely I just finished my first Oraloa, that one had absolutely no gapping, you can't make a grid any tighter. If things go as planned I'll be starting Cosmic Spiral in about a month, fingers crossed for improved spacing.
