@@rustyjones7908 curious to see what it would do with stronger weapons, that Oda boss fight never looked hard because every time ive gotten to him i was already hitting an upwards of 10k-12k dmg per shot w/ a vanilla pistol/crit build, even after 1.6
@@jvalentin55 I mostly play melee builds. And let me tell you, Oda had a plan until I started punching him in the mouth.
Normal bullets: *losing kinetic energy after ricochet
V’s bullets: “if I hit floor, ceiling or wall, you’re definitely going to fall”

I think the starting pistol was supposed to player a bigger part in the game originally. It reappears when you're being chased from Konpecki and when Vik gives you the two pills at the end and you're holding it on the roof while talking to Misty - you can scan it and the display says "Vs Gun". Dying Night wasn't supposed to be supplied so early either but was supposed to be won in the shooting match.
which is why I bring a Unity every time I play Don't Fear The Reaper
Man you could have saved yourself so much trouble by saving Takimura instead of running out of the apartments. Takimura would have ran the entire distance in the Devil ending, including the Adam smasher battle.

They LMGs dirty 😔 only got 2 and one isn't even an a machine gun
So:
Oda - You can sneak away from him to craft bullets
Matilda - If you shoot the blue thing in her back she loses the regeneration and loses a lot of health.
Mechs - For each turret you destroy, they loose a lot of health
With Adam, yeah, you're gonna take a long time.
I didn't fight Matilda, just snuck past her and it worked
Or just oneshot everybody because crit pistol build is op af.
all of the enemies at the mall despawns and you can get her hammer too

You do know they only have 32 rounds each have very low damage regardless of level and probably have the lowest ricochet chance considering it's a plastic gun that somehow shoots actual bullets also it's gonna cost a fortune as well as inventory weight just to fight anything nevermind Adam smasher
Very doable! I haven't beaten this challenge yet but I do have one underway.
When you buy the guns you buy them at your level, so as you level and keep buying them they will scale with you. Pistol perks obviously do affect them, and they actually do decent damage.
You can fill your inventory with them and even stock loads in your stash to pull out from your car whenever you need to, but be wary that if you roam and keep levelling then the ones in your car will be outlevelled by you and get weaker if you don't replace them. Early game this is more of an issue as you level so fast, but later levels are slower so you can stockpile a bigger amount of them.
Mostly annoying part is you can't equip 3x guns to have 36 rounds x 3 before needing to open your inventory to replace them, you can only have one equipped at a time or it just auto discards the gun if you try to swap to it.
It's a bit fiddly in some cases but it's been quite funny, if you don't mind the fact you have to open your inventory and equip a new gun every 20 seconds.
You can beat Oda with the starter pistol only if you can hide and go invisible just long enough to drop out of combat... unless they patched that out.
Yeah I actually went back in a steam and did it correctly! Someone in chat showed me how you can just craft in combat!
Judy's pistol is so good, it carried me through the whole game

Well yes, but for my last character I had that cyberware for smart weapons, so I decided to use Yorinobu's handgun, it allows you to use ricochet even if you don't have required cyberware. And then I bought sandevistan and many things became easier. But didn't find my favourite play style yet. I like sandevistan, don't like katanas at all, using handgun bores me after short time and shotgun is just too easy to use... If you got any suggestions I'll be glad.
@@3M0T10NL3SS Dude i just made a full Robocop esque build. Full body and reflexes, machine gun, shotgun, and ofive sniper
@@3M0T10NL3SS If you want a more interesting take on a sandy ranged build I might recommend building for Reflex, Tech, and Cool and using Comrade's hammer. With Sandy and Keren you can line up really powerful trick shots that take out 2 to 3 folks at a time, and reloading after every bullet is no problem while time is slowed. It's different enough from normal pistol play to keep things interesting. If you're absolutely against using pistols consider going reflex/cool and building for throwing knives. Finally, if you wanna try something completely wacky, consider running 20 body/Int/Tech and pair heavy machine guns and grenades with Legendary short circuit, Detonate Grenade, and Optical hacking.
For future reference, you can simply stealth past Matilda, the boss fight is completely optional
What about pistol whipping. It would technically be within the rules (and could be a challenge on its own)
I felt it was more my body doing the damage so I didn’t. I though by not doing it would be worse for me, and more entertaining haha!
I want to see you only use the disposable 100 eddy guns you get from vending machines.

23:00 Aim for the little shoulder pieces on mechs. Once you do enough damage they break and do a big chunk, normally a couple thousand damage per shoulder
You know seeing some of these crazy glitches you get during these challenges makes me remember that I got an enemy to be stuck in a box ,had to shoot a door to get an enemy to come out of another door in another mission and then one time I got a Cyberpsycho fight to NOT end because it couldn't die and yes I am serious about that

to be fair, taking the self-endgame ending still follows the rules of only using the starter pistol
Love that upon arriving on certain objectives, he always crashes right next to the area he was supposed to go to
I didn't even know Oda was suppose to be a hard boss I beat him first try on hard difficulty because he just go stuck in the sky while doing his little stealth stunt

So basically you can't compete the game with only starter pistol, it doesn't have enough damage and you need to rely on your electric discharge
If I could level up the gun you could. But with the bullet limitations nope it’s kinda impossible in my opinion.

I know it’s a passive but I was kinda forcing it to trigger so I felt I kinda bent my rules there 🤷🏻♂️

@@ambassadorofreee3859 they nerfed crits to oblivion. Weapons like the Satori that need critical hits are just bad now. Don’t know why they bombed them the way they did but that was not cool.
There is a iconic pistol in the game that allows your bullets you use come from your currency’s pool so in that sense you can have infinite ammo.
Dex's gun (Plan B), you can loot it from his corpse in the landfill.

Great idea, because there’s so much loot all around the world, I’ve always thought of trying to complete the entire game without ever having any guns in my inventory, only using guns that I find in the world in the moment.. and preferably I’d say no looting guns off of dead enemies either, only using guns that r laying around in a various areas
As a point crafting ammo from enemy guns just makes sense.
Honestly the starter pistol should have been an iconic after some time playing the game. Every legend has a signature piece of equipment after all
Technically you could... Just stack Cold Blood for resistance, damage & speed bonus per stack... Stack pistol/revolver perks for more damage reload speed etc... But I wouldnt torture myself for it unless there's an achivement for it... It's hard enough since the game is level based... Without upgrading it, Well, You'll be needing WAY too much ammo assuming you survived somehow... Cheers choom!

You actually want the QIANT legendary sandevistan mk4 - with 3 legendary heatsinks - knocks it down to a 3 second cool down 👍
I would ask that you do this with the game's starter iconic weapon (literally one of the earliest side quests is to just go pick it up) the Dying Night, but since you can get it to Legendary grade, it wouldn't be much of a challenge for you. Especially with the headshot damage bonus it gives.
But wouldn’t that be too easy haha!
Man, seeing your gameplay and how many bugs there are is really eye opening on how bad bugs can be for some people.
I played only a few weeks ago and had maybe 1 or 2 minor bugs.
Honestly I was playing around with mods at the time so that probably didn’t help. Also I love the bugs I get I think they’re hilarious!
I mean this is probably a 40hour+ run, just a couple of clipping issues and weird physics is pretty mild. At this point it's probably less buggy than Skyrim. This video pretty well reflects my experience with bugs (minus random crashes to Desktop).
I was gonna say, you could’ve tried to utilise shooting explosives like you did with one of the snipers. This game is filled with shit that explodes when shot to the point that “I don’t know how I died” is a big problem new comers have, and it’s usually them shooting and standing near an explosive

Thank you! Yeah after a lot of play thoughs I’ve started to really like Jacky but I do wish he was in it for longer.
I am convinced Jackie was not supposed to die so early but because of deadline of release they decided to not add that. I actually have a more of a problem with the fact that it wastes potential of other characters like Jackie's mom, Misty or even some Valentinos.

I think cuz I spent like 10 hours playing before I did the heist I got some time to bond with him. Especially on streetkid I had alot closer ties to his family and friends. So it still breaks by heart to see him die cuz I sorta fell in love with how silly and blunt he was.
But in my most recent play I was blown away that I had made it from the start to the completing the heist in less than a couple hours. I didn't realize just how much I took my time the first time.
@@GRIMHOOD99 I'm fairly sure it's related to the fact that they got Keanu Reeves very late in the development of the game. I think they scratched a lot of the beginning content to make room for Silverhand.

I honestly don't know why they felt the need to have an ammo limit, but overall pretty neat video. Good stuff. Also nice to learn how good ricochet is, will try to remember that if I ever get around to playing through this game.

I know this was a while ago but a tip for future runs.
If you level your INT a bit you can get the Mass vulnerability hacks. They don't do damage so it won't break your rules and it lowers the enemies defenses and resistances by ALOT when stacked up.
Hope this helps if you make any new challenges
I actually was using mass vulnerability in this run, it’s was still just that low of damage!
Fighting smasher at lvl 50 always seems like a breeze but the first time I fought that man I was lvl 19 and it was a nightmare
Regarding Sasquatch I think you can literally just skip her with the stealth cloak. Just go through the normal door and it continues as if you beat her

I did this but my starter pistol was Yurinobu's handgun and I carried it throughout the entire campaign
Matilda bossfight is skippable btw. Just run to the Netwatch agent undetected, which would be really easy with your optical camo.
By the end of it, it's "How to train your Adam Smasher"
Idea for next challenge. Takedowns only. Includes the jump on top of them. Can use Sandevistan or Cyberdeck but only use quickhacks that doesn't do damage, like whistle. 1 particular quickhack can make this really easy so it's up to you if you want to do that. For scripted vehicle chases, you can use guns for obvious reasons

Yeah, i kinda feel that. The 1 hp challenge was the only one that was extremely challenging for me.
In my head canon, Street kid gets sandy build, Nomad gets berserk build and corpo gets net runner build
You broke your own rule by upgrading with the muzzles.
I meant using the upgrade tab to level up the guns stats. Those are attachments to me!
For those who don't know: you actually can craft ammo while on fight by opening your inventory and then pressing "K", it will open crafting section :v

Imagine doing all this stuff and not being aware you can craft ammo out of battle.
I beat cyberpunk on hard with the starting katana because my items leveled negatively throughout my entire run so even Oda's blade had lower stats.
Functional game.

Ricochet also bypasses certain enemy types' ability to "dodge" bullets. they can't dodge ricochet rounds very well at all.

you could drop the sandevistan and use a legendary short circuit so that crits with your pistol cause the effect, it wrecks mechs and bots and would essentially replace the low health burst you had to rely on.

5:32 - Finally!!! There you go, how does it feel to finally use ricochet? Good right? Oh, now it's easy? Yeah... we know...
6:19 - so... ricochet...? It does extra damage and has a percentage chance for hitting your target... why aren't you using it?
6:54 - I will give you pass on this one, but only because most people don't know you can both Ricochet and Penetrate with this gun.
7:40 - Oh! so mods are fair game then. Nice... now that you have a 100% chance to hit with increased damage... will you do it?
8:45 - Will you keep doing it?
8:05 - "... This muzzle let's me bend bullets around corners real easy?" YES! YES! That is what ricochet does! Are you going to start doing that now?!?!

@@abrahamsandwich Fair. Cyberpunk can become pretty unstable with 30+ mods. My game rarely crashes, but it does happen from time to time.
How can it be fun to play the whole game several times when the whole game is actually scripted. No random events, no random shootouts like they have in Far Cry.
That first Assault in Progress you hit after meeting Dex is uncomfortably difficult for no reason.

You can actually beat the game with an upgraded pistol without cheesing it.
There’s an eye mod that makes ricochets go for headshots instead and that doubles the damage, there also ammo packs that you can open in your inventory that would resupply your ammunition.
Short answer: yes, its one of the best pistols in the game
Long answer: unnecessary
Don't forget everyone BEFORE you jump on the heist mission go to the top of Arasaka tower for an ICONIC sword in the flying car.
don't have to sneak attack sasquatch, just get behind her and so enough damage to the glowing bit

Not gonna lie, my dummy thicc pistol build is so overpowered that Matilda was never a problem, In fact, i never noticed that she actually healed-

Just letting you know, in case you still don't know, you can sneak past the animals boss girl. The game doesn't tell you that you can, but I've actually done so in my playthrough.
The Animals bossfight in the voodoo boys mission can be skipped entirely if you just go around her steathily

Taking an enemy out without killing him is technically no assassination. You do not infringe upon the no killing other than starter pistol rule. Long story short, you made it harder than it had to be.

Bashing Oda with the gun might have been the solution to your ammo problem without breaking your rules

I skipped the entire Matilda battle by sneaking around her using the invisibility camo, idk if it was a bug or legit strategy, but I just didn’t want to take that fight when I knew I’d have to fight Placide later

For the heist I usually stash weapons at the entrance by dropping guns ammunition and when I did this I was able to bring the starter pistol with me great video dude.

Only solution I could've seen to this if, if you were already max level when picking up the 2nd pistol after losing everything for that mission

@@abrahamsandwich I hate to say it, but you can. It's a massive faff, but you can technically stealth takedown most bosses in the game- smasher included. You can find vids for it on RUclips.
The iconic Sandys are cool and all, but the QianT Mk4 legendary one only sold by Fingers is my fav. Even before Edgerunners & the subsequent desire for many people to try a "David" playstyle, I found out how broken it is when you have legendary heatsinks, bioconductors, and the epic nanorelays. 14 sec total duration with a damn near 1-2 sec cooldown lmao
Respect yourself and upgrade to the wick pistol when appropriate
