I've never seen the animes or manga or anything but I wanna put my armature-totally-absolutely-wrong theory *Ahem* So this girl with the blonde hair is a well known celebrity (I know that from the other cover Juby did) and she's doing a charity thing like the Make-A-Wish foundation where one of her fans gets to hang out with her for a day. Anyway, this girl who's a big fan wins the prize and brings along her best friend, the boy with brown hair in the video. At some point before the day the fan dies in a horrible accident of some sort and the boy is stuck going to hang out with the blonde haired girl because it's what his friend wanted and the song is about the celebrity cheering up the boy. Anyway, that's completely wrong and I know it but I'm bored.
Well, it's a lot more messed up than that. The boy was stuck in a time loop where he had to see the girl die over and over again, and the time loop ended, it exchange for the girl dying permanently. But as he gets out of the time loop he get these magical powers. He eventually finds a group of people who also has these powers and learns how to control his powers. Among those people is the idol, who wishes the boy would be happy, so she decides to spend some time with him to cheer him up. (Listen to Heat Haze Days if you want more context to what happened in the time loop, and the rest of the songs if you want to now what's really happening beneath all of this.)

Tobi Uchiha Mekaku city actors is supposed to be the anime made from these songs and the manga, but it didn't turn out well. These songs have Japanese versions which I believe are used in the series.

He was stuck in a death loop with his friend Hiyori (who he had a crush on) where he watched her die for 10 years straight until they died together, ended up in the haze, and he got out alone
He's 12 tho so i dont really blame him for being a constant downer lmao
