    This is exactly why I pray so strongly that God pours his love into your heart, because I want so much for you to see what I can see. I do not love God simply because I believe I will receive eternal life when I die. I love God because I see God everywhere I go, and I see God every time I smile, and every time I am able to bring joy to another. I love God because he is God, and I need nothing more.

      I don't have a clear record of the name of the soundtrack, it was from musicloops.com, but as the person below mentioned, the truth itself should drive home the convicting effect. Music at times might be used to accompany the preaching, but if it is removed, it should not change the effect. Whether or not we've wrongly used music in our videos or if at times, especially in older videos, it might come across manipulative--I am not certain. I've sought to grow in how I edit videos and want to honor the Lord in all things. But yes, we preach Christ.

    I say to ask yourself that because I *have* felt that: I have felt, deep down in my heart, a profound and deeply moving love that compelled - and compels - me to smile at those I see and spread joy wherever I can. And I say to ask yourself that because, in light of that, I *know* there is more to life and the Word than the legalistic system that so many set up in the world who honor God only with their lips.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад +1

    Yet many have - but not by their own will, but rather by the Holy Spirit revealing the glorious, wonderful truth of the matter, that we can praise God and love God not because we fear eternal torment, but rather because we know the indescribable extent to which God loves his creation. And that is when one has truly come upon the Good News.

    Acts 20:21 - Repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. - You need to ask yourself one question, are you looking to Christ? If you are you will be violently amputating that in your life that keeps you from the true joy and satisfaction found in Christ alone.

    we are not saying that we are justified by our works in that sense, however the bible is clear that we will be JUDGED by our works, and thats all over the bible, our works our the FRUIT of our salvation NOT THE ROOT of our salvation, our works can NEVER save us, but if we don't show our faith through works then do we really have faith? thats all we mean by that

    • @ElijahGreaves-kr6it
      @ElijahGreaves-kr6it 10 месяцев назад

      This sermon is not for those who have looked to Christ for salvation but for those who haven’t, I believe that if you’re preaching to lost people you need to crush them with the law and then give them the gospel. But an issue I have with especially the lordship salvation camp is that it collapses the law back onto the gospel and that just causes believers to doubt their salvation unnecessarily, and how the ls camp has this idea that your assurance has to stem from your performance and not from his performance, the book of hebrews doesn’t say that, it says consider him and look to him, have the full assurance of faith founded in him Jesus Christ, praise the lord!!

  • @GabuEx

    Speaking as a Christian... I can only weep and express empathy for Albert Martin. Whatever God one worships, that is how one will be. If one worships a God of whom one is afraid, then one will preach fear; but if one worships a God whom one loves, then one will preach love. From the way fear drips from the message that this preacher gives, one sees the God he worships, who is, plainly and simply, not the God who is love (1 John 4:16) nor the God whose anger lasts but a moment (Psalm 30:5).

    Warning people of the wrath to come is entirely Biblical. Those who do not believe themselves guilty will not have any fear of hell, and will not repent. Fear of punishment is only the first step that gives a backdrop for the love of Christ to be displayed. Therefore your contention that we must not preach it is wrong. But yes, it must be framed with the gospel, which Albert Martin did do.

    It teaches us to say No to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. fear him who can destroy both body and soul in hell
    it is better to go the heaven with 1 eye then to spend an eternity in hell with 2, those are just a couple of scripts that God uses as means by that
    and your right, there is a type of fear that is worldly grief that leads to death, but there is another that leads to life when the person because of fear cries out for a savior, thats what happened to me 3 years ago, and it was out of fear, but he changed my heart and I serve him out of LOVE

    I do not doubt that you preach what you believe to be the whole truth. But I know in my heart, as revealed by God, that there is much more to the Word than such messages give it credit.
    It is not something that can be expressed or conveyed, because the pure, peaceful love I have felt in my heart from God can only be described as indescribable.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    This is really exactly what I said: those who preach eternal torment in hell cannot help but be afraid. Jesus tells us that there will be many who will say "Lord, Lord" who will be surprised to find themselves in disfavor. And if you wish to assert that you *know* that you are not in that group, all I have to say is - so did they!
    Really, the sooner one comes to realize that God is not an abusive father to be feared, the sooner that they can find peace in life instead of suffering and fear.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    I do not doubt that you intellectually know God. But in observing the contempt that you express, the barbs in your words, and the latent pride in your thinking yourself saved, I cannot help but conclude that you do not truly live in love, because if you did, your words would not be filled with such worldly imperfections, but rather the pure love of your Father in Heaven.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    The chapter then goes on to say the this:
    "When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all." (1 Corinthians 15:28)
    The phrase "all in all" is "panta en pasin" in Greek, and can be translated as "all things in everything". In other words, God will be all things in everything there is.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    And I say to ask yourself that because, in light of this fact, I know that someone who fears or who spreads fear - someone who expresses contempt; someone who is prideful; someone who is impatient - is, purely and simply, someone who has never truly felt the true and pure love of God in their heart.
    "Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16) And, similarly: "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." (1 John 4:8)

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    And as a final thought, here is a simple question to ask yourself:
    It is said that we should put our trust in God. Who, then, is more trusting of God: he who believes that if there is no eternal torment then there is no reason to believe, or he who is willing to risk his very eternal destiny because he believes with such conviction that what he believes is the truth?
    I encourage you to meditate on that thought, because I think it is fundamentally important.

    When Jesus died on the cross, man was open to the spiritual again. But the laws are still there. Now they deal with the spirit. If God is the same yesterday, to day and forever... his Laws are still in place. My question is, how can someone follow Jesus if you dont understand Gods laws?

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад +2

    If what you say is true - that there is no reason to believe but to save oneself from eternal torment - then the obvious question comes: why do I believe? Why do I not live a life of unrepentant sin, and of endless material and carnal desire? Why do I love you, and everyone else, to such an extent that I just want to hug you to show how much both I and God love you? If there truly is no reason to believe but salvation, then I should not.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    Belief in eternal torment is the ultimate catch-22: when one believes not only in eternal torment, but also that the lack of belief in eternal torment will subject one to that fate, then how can someone ever lose that belief?

  • @GabuEx

    I'm actually glad you brought up Revelation 14:9-11, because it enables me to segue to the topic of the fire and sulfur described therein. The Greek word for "fire" is "pur", which is a linguistic sibling of the Latin "purus" from which the English word "pure" comes from. Additionally, the Greek word for "sulfur" is "theion", which is the same word translated to "divine" in describing God's being in Acts 17:29.

    In English fear means to be afraid... but in Hebrew, it means to mindful or respectful. They way this person sees God and how I see God is, he is afraid of God, and I see God as my father. I talk to God like I talk to my earth Father. That is the big difference in how we see God.

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    And one more for good measure:
    "1 John 2:2. 'And not only for our sins,'--that is for those of the faithful, - is the Lord the propitiator, does he say, but also for the whole world. He, indeed, saves all; but some [He saves], converting them by punishments; others, however, who follow voluntarily [He saves] with dignity of honour"

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    Additionally, the Greek word in Matthew 25:46 that is translated into "punishment" is "kolasin". This word means in every case punishment whose ultimate purpose is the improvement of the one being punished. If this punishment were truly eternal, then we would be forced to conclude that God failed in his attempt to improve the ones being punished - but we know very well that God cannot fail at that which he wishes to do.

  • @GabuEx

    I do not expect these words to meet with agreement, but that is not their aim - I simply feel that they are words that must be said. I say them not to boast, nor to point the finger, but rather to express my sincere concern that you, like so many others, have become ensnared so much in the legalism of the Pharisees that you do not see the wondrous and glorious light of God that is all around you, every single day, waiting to fill your heart with the warmth of godly compassion for all things.

    I truly hope that you, too, can come to the knowledge that has brought such a blast of peace, hope, and love into my life. My only hope in life is that all can come to know the love that is God.

    The question that must then be asked is this: if God truly will be "all in all", then how on Earth can the vast majority of humanity be eternally estranged from him in hell? And how can "justification ... (bring) life for all men" (Romans 5:18) if it is not the case that, indeed, all will be made alive in Christ?
    The reality is so much more uplifting and joyous than the "gospel" (I put it in quotes because it is hardly good news) of the ultimate failure of Christ to be victorious over death.

  • @illbehonest
    @illbehonest  15 лет назад

    yes Christ is worthy even if he throws us in hell, fully agree with that, however
    Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others
    2nd Cor 5:11
    and while I agree that we as Christians obey Christ out of love, God still uses fear to keep us from not turning from him as it says in the new covenant
    Jer 32:40 I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me

  • @GabuEx
    @GabuEx 15 лет назад

    And yet, we also have this:
    "There is no fear in love." (1 John 4:18)
    Are we not to love God? Then if we are to love God, how are we to fear God, if we cannot both love and fear at the same time?
    Thus we must conclude that we can only truly do one, and considering that God is love, I think it is evident which that is. The phrase often seen of "fear and trembling" is better translated as "exuberant joy and awe". Properly understood, those verses are telling us to revere God, not fear him.

That those who die in sin are also in the presence of Jesus (Revelation 14:10) reveals the true nature of the fate of these people: they are *purified* in the presence of Jesus, not cast aside like refuse.
    God is love, and his mercy does not bear a "best before" date. And that is the true Good News.

    And as a final note, you should ask yourself what this verse truly means:
    "This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe." (1 Timothy 4:9-10)
    Was Paul lying when he declared Jesus to be the "Savior of all men"? Or is it, perhaps, the actual truth of the matter?

    Thus we can conclude that this is describing the same thing as is described in Revelation 2:26. This is not describing the granting of eternal life at all, but rather the life the righteous will have alongside Jesus as authorities over the nations once Jesus returns. The eternal life promised in the Bible comes from 1 Corinthians 15, in which death is abolished and all are made alive in Christ.

    I weep for you because I see the fear in your every word: you don't want to give up belief in eternal torment because you are just that afraid that you might receive it if you did. And you adhere so strictly to what you see as the requirements for salvation because you are just that afraid that you might not make it.

    I personally like to talk with people and find out what they know and dont... it shows me what I do and dont know. But I never question someones belief. Like everything we do... that is something between you and God... NO ONE has the right to question it. When you do this, you put yourself in Gods place... Matthew 7 explains this. But unlike the guy taking one passage... read the whole chapter... it tells you what was actually meant... Jews discuss the word with their Rabbis to learn...

    There are plenty of surviving writings from the second through the fourth century in which people who were fluent in the Greek of the New Testament as their native language - both learned teachers and the masses - concluded that the punishment for sinners described in the Bible was of a finite duration. Do you honestly think that we who live in a time of increasingly strong traditions have a better view and understanding of Koine Greek than they?

    You speak with barbs, not grace and gentleness. You conduct yourself in your perceived salvation pridefully and condescendingly towards those whom you feel are reprobate. You project contempt, not patience.
    Where is this?
    "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Ephesians 2:4)
    Where is this?
    "Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." (1 John 4:16)
    Where is this?
    "Do to others what you would have them do to you." (Matthew 7:12)

    There's an obvious complaint one can make - that the life the faithful receive is "aionion" as well - but there's a problem here too. The passage in Matthew 25:31-46 is describing the second coming of Jesus - note that it describes "the Son of Man" coming in all his glory.

    justification by FAITH ALONE thats one of the point of THE REFORMATION IN CHRIST ALONE, thats another
    how can you accuse us as reformed people something that we clearly don't teach, 1st John 3:9 is clear
    because we are BORN of GOD we will not continue to practice sin, not to be saved or keep salvation but BECAUSE GOD SEED IS ALREADY IN US!
    please consider this, God bless you!

    Right here:
    "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:22)
    "The last enemy to be destroyed is death." (1 Corinthians 15:26)
    The Greek word translated here to "destroyed" is "katargeo", which means "to do away with; to annul; to abolish". In other words, at the very end, death is abolished.

    What, then, am I to conclude? That you would read my post and think me upset tells me that everything I have said is correct. I know that everything I have said derives from the love I hold in my heart and from my earnest desire to spread that profound, peaceful love that I feel.

    Neither in the Protrepticus, nor in the Paedagogus, nor in the Stromata does he ever say that the punishment of those who die in sin is eternal. That quote you provide, as before, contains the translation of "aionion" into "endless". When Clement says "it would be better for them if they were not deathless", he is being hyperbolic in his statement - which I agree with - that the punishment of those who die in sin is terribly painful and something to be avoided.

    Now, here's a question: when slavery was abolished, did this only mean that no further people would be enslaved? No - it also meant that anyone who had already been enslaved would be released from their bonds. And the same is true here - to say that death will be abolished not only means that no one further will die, but also means that anyone who has suffered under death will have that suffering lifted.

    I would give you a longer response, but I really have to get going (I've already spent far more time here than I should have) - but it suffices to say that this meshes well with everything I've said about Matthew 25:31-46.
    In that passage, Jesus is describing what will happen during his second coming, when he gives the faithful authority over the nations. The "aionion life" he promises there is the same "life" he describes in Matthew 7:13-14 - which indeed only a few will find.

    And, similarly, I really am concerned that the same thing is true here. Honestly ask yourself - you don't need to tell me - when the last time was that you really, truly felt overwhelming joy and love in your heart, so much so that you didn't know what to do except smile, thoroughly unable to express to anyone else the profound contentment and peace with the world that you felt at that very moment.

    That is exactly true! We are saved by faith alone not works. Romans 3:20, Romans 3:27-28 and many more texts... you are confusing us with what you find wrong my friend...

    I'm not righteous at all. When God saved me, He changed me from someone who enjoyed going to bars, living with my boyfriend, swearing, etc., to the next day without even being evangelized to, stopped drinking, swearing, and moved out of my boyfriends house while breaking his heart and being in love with God.. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and it bothers a believer end when they don't repent of the sin He is convicting them of. Supernatural change is evidence. Read 1 John.

    Ought we sin in light of this fact? Certainly not - but *not* because we are afraid. "The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18) We ought not to sin because we love God, and because we know that turning away from sin purifies us not only for eternal life, but also in this world, such that our lives may be fulfilling and bright with Jesus, the light of the world (John 8:12).
