@max marrero No, we are not above regular law enforcement. We just have jurisdiction on military bases, as regular police would not. Outside of those military bases, it's vice versa. They have jurisdiction over us when we are on public property(cities, counties, ect.), and we have jurisdiction over them while on federal government property (military bases). When on military bases, you are under a completely different book of laws and regulations (the UCMJ). You aren't able to act like an entitled 4 year old when on a military base, like this lady did.

I was Navy then AF. Most of the people trying to get on base that don’t have a CAC are girlfriends looking for some loving, lost trying to get directions, ask about an air show, are drunk/high or don’t speak English. In my time as an MA, on many of the bases I worked we were authorized to issue both state citations and federal citations. I remember a day, when Security Police would park an APC behind the gate with a half loaded M-60 manned, mounted, and pointed at the gate with orders to KILL anything that tried to run the gate. I also remember semi permanently installed post barriers outside the gate that required you to slowly drive a zigzag pattern to enter the base.
BTW she should be glad that she encountered a Law Enforcement trooper. Security Specialists would have surround her car, and pointed loaded rifles at her, and they would have drug her out of the vehicle much more harshly.
BTW I was USAF Security Police, Security Specialist.
BTW a half loaded M-60 is an M-60 that has been cleared, the feed tray cover closed on an open bolt, the open bolt held back while the trigger was pulled, then eased forward under hand pressure, safety reengaged, then placed in a tripod or vehicle mount, then a belt of ammunition inserted into the feed tray until the first "Click" don't do 2 or you'll have to start over. Now to fire you just remove the safety, pull back the charging handle and pull the trugger.

We had this lady at Bragg try this at one point as she believed her “boyfriend” was cheating on her and tried to force her way onto post. The MP’s weren’t having it. She than started making claims that her family would come get her and they had no idea how powerful she was. Lady, the entire 82nd, CAG and other various door kickers reside at the base you just tried to forcibly enter and now make threats against. It was a good laugh.

Moral of the story: don't get involved with psycho women. As a military member I learned the hard way that women will do whatever they can to entrap service members, especially when you're on overseas duty. I don't care if this hurts people's feelings. When you're in the military, the benefits you have can be used against you.

More people need to think like you I've always said just do what they say be polite they're human beings the minute you make it personal they're going to find a way to ruin your day pick your battles and you'd be surprised how much you can away with purely by being civil
Although I can't argue that some cops are just going to be on a powertrip no matter what you do but they're the ones you least want to give an excuse to bend you up

Not only are the Police inconvenient but so are everyone else who are working on the base at the time, because now we’re in lockdown for several hours or more!
I’ve experienced 3 lockdowns in my 9 year career on base where one time, the lockdown lasted 5 hours after I just finished my 12 hour shift.
No one leaves and no one comes in during a lockdown! Smh
