The trilogy is finally complete. Roman Empire speedrun commentary kickstarted this channel
and I'm happy to at last showcase a full world conquest as Italy in Hearts of Iron IV.

Of course I formed the Roman Empire in this run again, but it's not the primary objective.
The main challenge of this speedrun is going to war fast, keeping justification times low
and to never stop the aggression before the world map is fully monochrome.
The original script for this video was over 13000 words long and a lot of little snippets
were edited out in the end. If there's info missing or if you have questions in general,

Q: Does this work in v1.14?
Yes, even with the Trials of Allegance DLC. But with ToA active,
you need to account for the slightly different behaviour of the American Monroe Doctrine.
In fact, you get more countries for free since Brazil joins the Allies faction if world
tension is high enough and they're threatened by hostile borders.
Q: Should I try this myself?
No. Well. If you want to, feel free, but I wouldn't advise to follow every single step.
You can replicate most of it if you understand the strategies and mechanics at play and
adapt it to your personal campaign, but even slight deviations from my run will
inevitably create differences.
Q: What nation is next?
Don't know yet. I rarely do. But I aim to do runs with all major nations. I've covered
Germany and Italy a lot - France, Japan, Soviets and the United Kingdom once. Never did a
run with the United States. Maybe that'll change with the new Monroe Doctrine. We'll see!

16:00 That definitely has to do something with the buggy Impassable states, which for some reason they made us unable to take in the peace deals since BBA, France and UK have states in Sahara and Australia has Central Australia
Hmm. Never thought about that. I always assumed that it's a remnant of a bug from early BBA where nations would go into exile when they in fact shouldn't.

I don't know which hoi4 youtuber is more impressive. You with your hoi4 speedruns or Legit Burger who conquers the world with literally 1 division
both are impressive.

That's a great run! Thank you in particular for explaining all your actions in detail, that was really entertaining. Besides, the country's leader in the corner of each video is a great and unique touch, love that a ton.
14:54 those ghost nation, at least for the example of France, it actually can be useful.
You see, there is mistake which I had discovered last year in the french focus tree. If germany forms HRE and EU and then gets annexed by Napoleonic France, if it completes the focus disunite germany, Prussia gets cores on all Benelux, Austrian, Italian, Eastprussian and even FRENCH states.
To achieve it's maximum cores without cheats, you have to play germany, fight against the allies and make sure that france capitulates and establish vichy (important: AFTER they cored Algeria). Then you normal continue, in the peace conference you puppet free france, so it annexes Vichy.
Then you normally continue, clapping Italy.
Then you Oppose the shadow man. All puppets will stay on the shadows man's side, meaning you can simply annex all of them in the peace conference, especially annoying Regno de Sud. Then you normal continue forming HRE. If Denmark had reaffirmed neutrality, you do attack them, so they become your Protectorate. So you can get a core in North Schleswig via the occupation decision. Sabotage Germany and release yourself as a democratic nation (probably UK, cause they can puppet nations as democratic)
You make HRE democratic, annex them and release them as yourself to form EU.
After that, you release france, but retain core states. Now you are France in Algeria. And thats the point of ghost nations!
You still have your fleet. So you naval invade the EU and after you capture Paris, Free France gets it's original focus tree back. Before you capitulate EU, you need to release Algeria in the dessert, because it needs to annex 3 certain states, for that Bavaria, Hanover and Schleswig-Holstein can't spawn if you complete the focus Disunite Germany. Then you just go down the Napoleonic tree et voila, Prussia will be released in nearly entire central european state!

I heard they patched order 66 😭😭 do you think that will negatively effect some country speed runs like the Japan one 😮
In newer versions some older strats and exploits just don't work anymore. You can still go back to the version that the run was done in through the Steam betas though.
I think someone discovered a way to do order 66, basically you have to request forces from a puppet, set up a garrison order, delete the puppet's forces (this will send the troops back to the puppet), declare war and request the forces from the puppet again. I recommend watching sejozwak's video for that

That's how the game is shipped in Germany. Hitler and some fascist advisors are censored like that by the devs to not get in trouble with German laws and press.

I tried out the joining faction exploit to higher world tensions. Actually, if you would have done it more consequently all 26 hours, unlike how you did roughly every 2 to 3 days, you could have reached the 100% world tension around 10 days earlier.
I saw in a game once a ghost nation, but also visible on the map. To be precice parts of fashist italy survived after the italian civil war. Tho this happend in road to 56. It could be that this can happen with italy in vanilla game too. At least sounds familliar to your problem here zoo.
With ToA active, the USA is not guaranteeing the Argentine on 11 Sep. As an alternative, I declared on the Philippines to draw US into the war. However, during the Peace Conference, only the US and Philippines could be taken, and other nations didn't join the fraction. May I ask how could that be solved?

how did you naval invade the usa? i couldn't do it when my naval supremacy is at 1%.
USA also doesn't guarantee Argentina in my playthrough for some reason
You need to have navy and invasion ready and launched before declaring war. You don't actually get supremacy, just a brief window during which the US fleet isn't on mission yet. If you're playing on the recent version, the Monroe Doctrine works differently. The guarantees are now a national spirit and take about two weeks to trigger.

Well in my games, im not allowed to do airdrop or naval invasion from Germany's land if it is not called into war. Am I missing something?
Hard to know without the specifics. Sounds like you only had mil access.

but how do you do a naval invasion with 33% you can't until 50
70%, but why do you think that's not the case? The key are prelaunched invasions that take off unchallenged.
@@m3an I tried to do it the same but I got 33% and it wouldn't start. I understood that it's an Intel problem but since I don't have the DLC I can't increase it right?
@@davidecentomo6429 You have to declare war immediately after you have the CB, so ideally at 01:00h. Have your fleet on invasion support and activate the invasion orders beforehand. If you do it right, even a single ship is sufficient for naval supremacy since the AI hasn't send their fleet on a mission yet.
@@m3an I tell my troops to leave before declaring war so as soon as it starts they leave but despite this they fail
@@davidecentomo6429 you have to declare on a country that the UK will guarantee. Directly justifying on UK will alert them and they will put their navy up. However, they don't see wargoals on other nations (even guaranteed) as a threat.

No, order 66 got patched (except for a now less useful way that has to do with puppets)

On the other hand, what I love of WC with most nations is the amount of manipulations you must do to achieve massive conquests without having large wars (except vs the soviet union, those are bloody people to conquer even stretching their lines as you did in this run)
How did you naval invade the UK without naval supremacy? The North Sea was yellow?

wow this is insane! One question though, maybe I missed it? How do you get the minors all on the peace conference? I haven't done quick Allies rush for a while now but I seem to remember if you cap the major too quickly the minors joined but not yet contributed in any way only gets a truce but not included in the peace conference? That was why my early caps of UK always left Canada the leader of Allies.
There was a fundamental change a couple of versions back that completely removed the war score condition. The only requirement now is that the minor nation needs to be in the faction that capitulates.
