Amazing as always Derek. Lots of fascinating history along the way as well as some stunning scenery. Nothing like a bath after a day's walking. And a pint of Guinness too.
One time i got stranded in town and had to walk home.It was about 5 miles or so.It got to looking so different to me,things never seen, and before long started to wander if i was on right road.lol You are absolutely right about how much more a person can take in on foot and how different things seem.
I love your videos buddy. Especially that you show us sides from Ireland off of the beaten tracks. Head good, body good, mind good :-) keep up the good work and stay positive
Really good video - scenery, hiking, and history - 'Walkin' and Talkin' at your best. Including the word 'Ireland' in your video titles might garner more hits.
Enjoying this series bro. What a cool country for traveling by foot, i'm jealous. I offer a challenge. Stay a night in an abandoned church or ruin of some kind.
Where do you get your water from? That's something I am always afraid of when I do a trekking tour. I'll plan to walk the E8 in Ireland next year, because I am studying abroad in Galway from September, but I am afraid of the loneliness and the lack of water. I just came back from a one week trekking tour in Sweden and I had to deal with exact these problems which make me wonder if it is a good idea to do a longer trip all by myself, especially as a young woman. Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany!
There’s lots and lots of rivers on the trail in which you can filter water. However, on this trip, I often just fill up from town to town and often come across random taps :)
Nah but maybe if I was going uphill. That’s a super light rain jacket you see most of the time and I was cold in the evenings/mornings so happy to wear the puffy. T-shirt all day today ☀️
It’s a complicated subject matter. Most land is privately owned in Ireland and wild camping is “only permitted” in very few places/national parks. I’ve never had any issues but I am also discreet and avoid public/common areas when I want to do it 👍
Lovely listening to the birds singing- thanks for sharing
16.20 the exact moment you realize you were shaking the deodorant stick like a can of lynx .... brilliant !!!
These are great mate! Really good to watch on a cold February day, dreaming of long evenings being out and about again soon

Another excellent video Derek! Thank you.
Amazing as always Derek. 'twas lovely watching this. You looked like you were at peace in that bath. The room looked fab for €60.
Ha yeah it’s one of the best €60 rooms I’ve ever had ! Cheers mate
Lovely
Love the little history lessons along the way. Very interesting. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks Phil, it’s great to be learning this stuff myself !

Great video of your travels but are you not roasted in that jacket all day?

Is it forbidden to wild camp in Ireland?
