I read that he talks abt how he had achieved his idol dream and people could keep on hating He also talks abt how he has been dreaming for "this moment" started in a small room with his "team"
I think this is the first time in a while I actually like a song that is such an earworm. The use of piano was so cool, I haven't heard that before. The choreo elevates the song even more!
The fact that he was involved in every point of his project from writing the lyrics, to producing, to choreography, to the theme of the mv, everything. So so proud cz this is just so YEONJUN. No one will be able to pull this song of without him. Also he said this is just the beginning. So excited for this journey of him.
Love the beat. To many, it came across as a diss track towards those haters of his, so you are right about his portrayal in the MV of not giving an F :). As always, thank you for your reaction and your support of TXT and its members :)
YEONJUN really is the 4th gen it boy cuz omg it's just his SOLO DEBUT but he reached no 1 on itunes of 20 different countries WITHIN AN HOUR😭🔥🔥🔥🔥 this man ISTG🔥🛐🛐🛐
I'm posting what Bookish Theories post about GGUM on twitter *GGUM is such a classy gag because Yeonjun’s talent is constantly (and unnecessarily) questioned by some people and yet he sticks like gum. The more you want to get rid of him, the more he grows. The point IS to be a menace and I respect it*
Here's what Yeonjun said about the song ❓were there any difficult aspects while preparing for this mixtape? 🦊 from the beginning till the end, everything had my touch. like the words said, it’s “yeonjun’s music” so i wanted to write the song well because i had a lot of affection towards it. it was my first time going through the process of creating music and performances by myself so there were quite a few difficult moments as well. it wasn’t just easy but i poured in all my energy in the lyric writing, recording and performance; without leaving even a single one of them behind. ❓how do you feel about releasing your first mixtape? 🦊 since it’s a moment that i’ve been dreaming of for a long time, i’m excited and filled with emotions. although, i do feel pressure, i’m extremely excited. i wanted to show my own colors, ones that i was unable to show in team activities, and what i’m best at. i worked hard on the song with the mindset, “regardless of what kind of music i make, i’ll make music that distinctly has my own color and story”, and i feel like i was able to capture those aspects well so i’m satisfied. He also said that the gum represents him .
Chewing GUM is mostly connotated to being cool or feeling cool and that's exactly what he had in mind when he initially created the main idea of his solo song. Ggum also means dream in korean so there are lines that relate to this. It's simply feeling yourself, focusing on your agenda (dream/music/performing) and not giving an f to the 'people' and whatever they do, they will never get rid of you type of confidence. You'll stick like gum.it's Hence to why he acted like a menace in a radio show-representing the critics or people who act like critics and blab about anything about someone on-air (opinions made in public for attention) which is also close to his experiences in the industry. This what I got from the MV and his interviews 🤧
Thanks for the feedback, I always love hearing your analysis and watching you get into our concepts. I also want to thank you for the comment about YJ fluidity, recently he was harshly criticized by an insignificant party for not having done a challenge in his female version, but all the fans understood that he made recommendations, which in my head were imposed to highlight the music artist who was not challenged with it, however, we know that if it were up to him he would have done any version respectfully and perfectly.
I'm telling you I didn't know what to expect from Yeonjun's solo debut, since he's so versatile in the group and can rap, sing and dance so perfectly, he could've made anything. But this wasn't something a imagined at all, and I'm so positively surprised. I love it so much, he's so talented and has such strong stage presence. His voice is so beautiful and he use it so well through out the whole song. His facial expressions are so on point and because of that I don't know where to look, do I watch his dance moves? or his face? I have to watch and hear this song over and over again to fully absorb his work. Something I definitely knew about him, is that he was going to slay in his debut and I was right ❤
I know some people are speculating that it's a type of diss track but it's Yeonjun, guys. There's no way our sweet fox who's all about love and support is making a song dedicated to dissing anyone.
i feel like this does not fit the TXT vibe (I love TXT because they're not a very hard hitting, hiphop kind of a group), but it definitely fits Yeonjun. I remember when YJ said he wants to do a hard hiphop musical concept for TXT, but i assume they kept it aside for him when he finally does his solo projects. And it's the best decision ever.
U (in fact all of us) just haven't seen TXT'S full potential. They were trained heavily based on hip hop. Taehyun even said that in one of their interviews besides their predebut dance practises all show hip hop choreos❤❤❤
@@persik-pq3brYeah but I think what the OP meant was what TXT generally does now. I've always liked that about TXT because most Kpop male groups are heavily hip-hop so it's nice that TXT went a different route. Of course, TXT and any of the members will be amazing at every genre, I'm just personally glad it wasn't mainly hiphop.
@@Draize i agree w u.. in fact it's also kinda suprising that 5 years into their career, they still don't have much hiphop sounds in their discography. Mainly it's edm, pop rock, dance genre and also experimental things like Devil by The Window. That's what make me love them too bc there are already lots of hard hitting sound from other boy groups
It's one of those songs that will really suit a performance and that one might listen to when exercising hard but yeah not an easy listen. I think the vocal distortion can be jarring for people. I like it but I can totally see how someone might not.
@@Kkttrr31643 it's not the vocal distortion. It's just not the song for me I think. But I didn't liked Jimin's FACE at first and now I'm addicted lol. I may need a some time to process it and I may like it eventually 🤷
I dont get how ppl DONT like this song i mean techno ish stuff like this ppl wont mess with but even his own FANS hate it?..i love it..but ig thats js me

He is the gum - its his image he cant escape, but it also is his power as you observed, his talent that cant be denied by the haters

ggum is like the pronunciation of the word (dream ) in Korean
I’m dead at the “you sassy mf.” lol. Yeonjun is definitely showing his acting skills and silly personality.
