It doesn't cost any money to keep your neighborhood clean. Look at the Ironbound section of Newark, NJ, it's the cleanest and safest part of the city because the Portuguese actually take pride in their neighborhood and don't tolerate any BS.
Real estate market is booming in camden . I feel camden will shape up faster than philadelphia. The people have better attitude than philadelphians . The wild ones are the youngins that have no direction same as in Philly when parents dont raise their children the streets do
Just think the next time you buy Bananas from Walmart Just think they came from Camden NJ at the Ports there! I used to drive semi, I know I saw the plight of that city.
Your comment made me curious about Gloucester City. Yes, it's just under Camden, and I see that Broadway passes through both cities. So I took a" ride" through Gloucester on Broadway with Google Streat View. I wanted to know if Gloucester resembled Camden. The houses on Broadway look nice, clean, very different from Camden. Greetings from France
Lots of investors are. Get calls and texts almost daily, wanting to know if I’m willing to sell. Lots of places are getting bought up and fixed up. Just not happening all at once and maybe not fast enough.
Hopefully you got a panzarotti while you were passing through. They're unique to Camden. The easiest way to describe them is a fried stromboli. It looks like you mostly did looks around parts of Whitman Park area (locally called Pollock, as this area of Camden was populated by folks of Polish decent decades ago). You also did loops near the downtown area. You captured lots of crappy homes/ areas, believe it or Camden is improving on multiple fronts. Too bad your travel didn't lead you past Rutgers University and surrounding schools, Campbell Soup Company or the waterfront area.
He does sometimes but that’s about what 80% of people see everyday. He’s not tryna downplay these cities but simply showing the ambience and different culture/vibes they bring
Okay I get it so Camden in general is the disaster, rather than something horrible happening to our noble recorder. Clever title, I watched the whole 2 parts waiting for the bomb to drop.

Classic video tour of the gritty back streets of Camden NJ, urban decay, scary by day, no-go at night !
It's currently a lot better than it used to be. A lot
When was it at it's worst? What years?
@alexisdetocqueville9964 1980's and 90's
I feel bad for anybody that has no choice but to live there, I know I would hate living there.
It would be interesting to see the equivalent version of this video in the 1960s or 70s.

Not everywhere...some of those bananas come into the port of Texas too.
Camden is one of the most grimey parts of NJ along with major parts like Newark, Irvington, Trenton and Paterson.
You keep working hard you definitely gonna hit a million subs.
are there still dealers on every corner like it use to be or has it cleaned up alot? I havent been in Camden in over 13 years or so
Not so much, that I know of.
Camden is basically an smaller extension of Philly-dirty and fucked up with a lot of crime
Kinda seems like a nice place actually
I grew up one city down the road in Gloucester City New Jersey...

I mean we have working people the neighborhood is just impoverished.
The cars all look nice
I imagine this is what purgatory looks like.
Have you ever considered filming the nicest parts of cities, and the worst parts, and put them in the same video?
There aren't many nice areas in Camden. I live 3 towns away from this toilet and that's close enough

@@FixIt1975 Im saying if he's in LA or somewhere like that. Im from North Jersey, so I'm aware of Camden's "image problem" lmao.
He's done a few videos driving through rich zip codes in Detroit, would be an interesting concept tho
Interesting, yes. But not many are interested in "nice " videos, and it's niche territory.
