Saw them a few days ago, this song was insane live
the young kids here do have a right to opinion, but they don't see the whole picture as far as how this is a blend of current/earlier dance with strong hints of oldschool still in it. AFI has been my favorite for almost 20 years and if you appreciate anything they've done you must understand a little about who they are and why they make music.. anything with Davey is going to be diverse. And he's gonna make sure of it.
Bastard Mike and that’s what brings us all coming back because we never know what we are getting. Sometimes it introduces us all to new genres that have the afi/Dave twist to it. Now I don’t like everything he does, he’s not a god or anything but he deserves more recognition for his contributions to music, and without jade, Davey May never have reached his true potential.

Love this and love the viles. Love almost al of the other blaqk audio songs. Love old afi (they started really going down hill with crash and every album after that). Not a fan of Dream Car. Love most of son of Sam.

Well dream car is at least better than the new afi. I can’t get through the new afi albums at all - and I really want to like it.
Black sails in the sunset is my all time favorite Davey Havok album followed by both blaqk Audio albums and the first few several blaqk audio songs. I never grew out of black sails in the sunset which I thought I would. I have no idea what happened to afi though over the last several years. I think it started going down hill when I first heard them appear on the radio. (That was a crazy surreal moment)
Hey I love newer AFI just as much as the older stuff, I've got the Crash Love logo tattooed on my wrist 🖤 To each their own, though! I think The Art of Drowning has to my favourite AFI album though, and Only Things We Love is the best Blaqk Audio album to date in my books 🖤

I don't even listen to AFI but all the fan girls will worship this. Futurepop wise, this is crap. There are so many other bands out there in this genre that release more higher quality material like Assemblage 23, VNV Nation, Neuroticfish, etc.
davey's vocals carry blaqk audio. I agree, if you want something to dance to, there's tons of "better" ebm, but as a fan of everything you've mentioned, god ebm and futurepop vocals suck dick. Cut the vocals on "they're coming to take me away" and you have a stellar song... throw them back in and it's like listening to someone's uncle with an art degree recite lines from an incomprehensible college film.

ok I admit the album is very good. I was wrong. Really had some hate towards this band with the last album they produced because it was produced differently. Really digging the depeche mode and pet shop boys influences with some of the songs.

The cour is the worst crap i have ever herd from Davey.. Iits like he is taking the first take on everything and not even try.. Real fans will understand me because for me its about lyrics and heart and soul.. This has none of it.. So whats next, your gonna fucking ruin dream car? Cause thats the only thing that still sounds good thats "new"

the last afi released i really enjoyed was crash love but i think get dark was a great single, even if the ep was a bit disappointing - i actually really liked a lot of tracks on the self titled album too but the production sounded REALLY lifeless to me (both the vinyl and digital) almost to the point of ruining the music? which isn't something i can say for many albums hmm - just my opinion ------ as for blaqk audio i think all their albums have strong songs and some weaker ones but the cexcells is probably my favourite so far - never really got into dream car but haven't given them much of a chance they seem cheesy but i suppose that's the point? i mean blaqk audio are cheesy in a way aren't they but it's good, catchy, fun music - i really like the viles even if the others sound just ok after a couple of listens and i'll be keeping my pre order for the record because i still enjoy most of what afi/blaqk audio put out! anyway :P
