Yea Ive read some folks did that. I was tempted as well after my 2nd (failed) box but thank goodness the 3rd one fitted.

How did the sound change by placing the tweeters in the door sails? How does that compare to the factory front door coaxials and dash tweeters?

Well hard to say cause the factory tweeter was pretty crappy. But its 100% better with the polk tweeter and placement at an ideal location, closer to ur ears.

Zero issues cranked it all full volume no problem

YOU WILL GET A BETTER SOUND QUALITY IF YOU USE MDF TO MAKE YOUR BOX INSTEAD OF USING CHIPBOARD
