Create items in your Square Dashboard or in the Square Point of Sale app to check customers out faster, know what’s selling best (and when), and better manage your inventory.
To create items from your Dashboard, go to Items and Create an Item. Enter the item information. Add an image. Add the price, inventory, and SKU or UPC if you use bar codes.
If you sell items by the measure-a unit of weight, length, or time-include the right unit and price per unit. Choose from the units listed or add your own.
Add Variations if your item has multiple price points for different sizes or flavors. Add any available Modifiers. Assign the item a Category to make it easier to run reports and find items when you check out customers. And don’t forget to Save.
To create items in your Square Point of Sale app, go to Items, then All Items, then Create Item.
Enter the name, assign the item a category, add the price, SKU, and inventory stock. Next, add Variations, any Modifiers, and units if you sell items by measure. Then, tap Save.
Items automatically sync across all of your devices so you can track every sale, see inventory adjustments, and review sales reports in real time, helping you to identify sales trends and growth opportunities.

The description of how to set up an item with modifiers and variants was too short and fast. Please put out something that shows this process in depth. For example, when to use groups? when to use modifiers? how to mark a modifier as "currently unavailable". Which items or modifiers can be hidden in an online store? Etc. Thanks.
Square - when you say in Help go to the video explaining the "decimal quantity", you should make just that video. How do you set half an hour rather than an hour? This is crazy difficult with Square invoicing.

Does anyone know how to set each item's production cost?
So I want to put in a decimal amount and I get sent to this video, then I get a survey pop up. I still have to go back to the invoice and play with it until I can do it. Very unnecessary and a waste of my time.
Unfortunately this video we are being referenced to is obsolete since the creation of items is completely changed now. Disappointed!
